[Pregame] If the world is against Trae, I am against the world. Mavs tonight in Atlanta @ 7

* Hawks IR: Trae (concussion), Clint (calf), Wes Matthews (calf) and Bruno (back) all questionable. Dre (knee), Gueye (back), and Vit (shoulder) are all out.
* Mavs IR: Kyrie (thumb) is questionable, Dwight Powell (eye) is out, and Maxi Kleber (toe) is probable.

Welp, Trae got robbed again. Same story over and over. The past few games are just more proof that the offense is utter shit. Also interesting how the defense is still shit without Trae. Makes you think. I hope he’s good to go. Every game now I need to point out: where the fuck is De’Andre Hunter. May god help this man. Kawhi stole his fucking blood. Call this guy baby Kawhi but the real one is playing over 50% more games this season then Dre.

Unrelated, here’s an excerpt from an Athletic article called “Why Draymond Green is not in the USA Basketball pool for Paris, but Trae Young is”: (Hater ass title btw)

*”Among the potential surprises in the pool was* [*Hawks*](https://theathletic.com/nba/team/hawks/) *star guard* [*Trae Young*](https://theathletic.com/nba/player/trae-young-pMqz7IIVkDhPCk6P/)*. Young is enjoying another All-Star-caliber season but has, over the last five years, raised his hand for USA consideration three times (two World Cups and the Tokyo Olympics) and has never been picked.*

*There have been concerns about Young’s slight build and his struggles defending on the perimeter that have hurt his cause, and Young couldn’t get a look for the World Cup roster last summer even though Hill is a minority owner of the Hawks — so, they already have a relationship. On Wednesday, Hill suggested that Young’s frustration over not being picked, and the way he handled it, led to his placement in the pool for the Paris Games.*

*“I think he’ll be somebody we’ll consider,” Hill said of Young. “But one thing I did tell him, and I will say this, I thought he was disappointed, obviously, last year, the fact that he was (so public about his disappointment) show a tremendous amount of courage. A lot of guys might not be so public, and he was very honest about his disappointment. And, so, that, in part, is why he’s been so good. He’s courageous, but we’ll see.””*

On another note, I wanted to look at Jalen and DJ’s stats in the last 10 games:

* DJ: 23/7/5/1 57% TS
* Jalen: 15/9/4/1.6/1 53% TS (He shot 50% above the field in 7 games, just bad nights when we were blown out vs Wizards and Kings)

Knowing the Hawks, I shouldn’t have expected any early moves before the deadline. With the smoke around DJ falling off a bit I’m worried about the return. What teams gives us what we want? Brooklyn is the only team that comes to mind. Maybe Sixers and Melton? Fuck trading with NOLA Herb Jones is locked. As long as I continue hearing Lakers rumors, idk really. Not a GM, but it doesn’t feeling like instead of driving the price up it’s just scaring teams away. All this said, I would be fine with keeping Dejounte until the offseason. If you go back and sort by top in this sub for the past year, like I did today, you will be reminded how excited he was when signing his contract. Stuff’s not working out, yeah, but it hurts to let go.
