they need another bucket getter, plain and simple imo
Whenever Embiid only plays decent instead of otherworldly, you really see how reliant we are on him being the best player EVERY night.
We simply have a talent issue at the moment. Need to get 2 good players at the deadline. Melton, Oubre, Pat Bev, and Morris are not good enough players to get the MPG they are currently playing.
We’ve had a lot of guys out since then
We have been brutalized by injuries. Embiid’s missed games in that stretch when we were god awful, and Melton, Morris, Tobi (and Roco, would’ve got minutes with all our injuries) have all missed games too.
That stretch isn’t really a fair reflection of the team

Watch LaVine’s highlight package and tell me this guy isn’t exactly what they need. Deadly catch and shoot. Attack off a swing pass. Cutting to the hoop. Transition offense.
And put this guy on an elite team and watch how his reputation changes on defense. He played solid defense on team USA and he would do the same here.
You’re not going to get a better player in free agency and if an elite player comes available the sixers won’t have the assets to outbid other teams. You can get LaVine for the non-clippers picks or even just a single FRP and a future pickswap. You don’t even need to trade Tobi to get him. Give them expirings and Jaden Springer.
Embiid’s playing the best basketball of his career. He’s getting older. It can’t last much longer. GO FOR IT.
