Zach Lowe: “McBride is a solid backup…but he’s a little overmatched…Watch the 4 New York players off the ball on trips when McBride…struggles to get the Knicks into anything. A couple have not been able to hide their frustration. There’s been some dramatic shrugging & shoulder-sagging.

I don’t think anyone expects him to create or lead. He gives Brunson a 10 minute breather, goes out there, plays insane defense, and might hit a three or 2 or 3.

he went from d-league to backing up Jalen Fucking Brunson

maybe give him more than hardly 10 games to figure it out? God i hate ny sports media and most of our dumb ass fan ass base

dude is shooting lights out and replacing a 6moty candidate

How is he a solid backup but overmatched? Makes no sense. At least Deuce is aggressive on offense unlike Grimes.

This is what happens when you rely on iso ball and don’t have an offensive system. An offensive system can mask this.

Bro give him some time lmao. He needs to learn to initiate an offense at an nba level from scratch

Interesting thing to keep an eye on. Hey the first step in correcting an issue is to identify it right?

This is just a negative post about the Knicks when there’s absolutely nothing negative to say right now. Nice try though. These guys gotta keep their paychecks coming and sometimes it takes nonsense to do-so.

  8. Of course there’s gonna be growing pains for Deuce. He’s grown a lot as player in the past year and it’s good to finally see himself comfortable out there. He seems to have a strong work ethic, so I have no doubt he’ll do all he can to fix the areas of his game he feels he needs to improve on.

That being said… I’m all for critiquing his mistakes, but I feel like Lowe is on some BS and trying to stir up a controversy in the locker room with this. Idk, maybe these edibles just have me feeling sensitive tonight lol

Surprised at how Lowe is a consistently terrible analyst.

Yeah let’s not jump to conclusions about a guy who has largely been out of the rotation all season – he has stepped up and continues to improve and impress – and may I say, his shot is Ray Allen-esque

Show us more than one clip if there’s so much dramatic shrugging and sagging. This is just manufactured drama

what happened last season when deuce was put into the rotation?

what happened this season when deuce became the full time backup (starting 2 games as well)?

he’s a winning player who has some issues he’s working through. he’d be worth $7mil a year for what he gives us now. the fact that he’s only gonna be making half of that and still has room for growth should mean more positive talk about him than negative.

It’s a valid concern. But remember IQ two years ago? It takes time for some guys. Especially a guy whose was more scorer than playmaker in college. I have no problem giving him more time to find his way. But is the FO feeling patient?

Dude needs more than 10 games to figure it out. Don’t trade him. Let it ride.

The lineups have changed a little bit and I think they’re going to have OG out there and running some offense through him and see what they got.

Zach is the best in the business and he’s spot on here. Deuce isn’t playing backup PG, he’s playing backup guard. I like him on the court but you figure him and QG almost have the same role with the second unit. Ideally one of them, or someone else, would be trusted to create more so that Randle doesn’t assume the responsibility of taking the ball up when JB rests.

    He can’t run an offense.

If they want to go past second round he needs to be replaced this year. Not necessarily traded away though just moved down out of rotation.
