The problem is, we can’t build a team around said generational talent, and we lack the assets to do so.

  2. ImDefAMunch

ive never been on the trade trae train

but today is the first day i have seriously considered it

  3. Both_Funny4896

all these weirdos in here hating on Trae, but get offended when I say send him to the Spurs where he’ll be appreciated 🤦‍♂️

  4. CTCapsFan38

30/10 coming off injury. I might be delusional but I’m a Trae truther for life

  5. Sufficient-Recover25

Low key want to see him with Wemby rather than waste his career with this tragic franchise at this point

  6. No-Association-9176

nah i wont switch up on trae i still think hes either the best or one ot the best points in the league its the coaching staff and everyone except him and JJ that im switching up on

  7. SheepherderFit69

Trae is rotting here. Send him to the Clippers so he can win a chip with PG and Kawhi.

  8. maemikemae

Luka is incredible but that don’t matter. Trae is our guy. Go Hawks.

  9. MiserableSoft2344

I would spread my ass so wide for Trae Young if it meant he would be a Hawk for life.

  10. DarkKnightCometh

Lol na. Let’s be honest, Trae is a great player. Elite player when he’s on. But generational talent remains to he seen.

“We traded a crazy offensive guard with bad defense for another crazy offensivr guard with bad defense and a 1st”

5 years ago yall, time ti move on and focus on how shit our roster is rn

  12. AssociateJealous8662

OK! But wait, so you’re saying there is an option to switch up?

  13. leeghandiz4me

Nobody is switching up. But he’ll never be Luka. It is what it is cause we had TITS so I wasn’t worried, but after he was gone, the plans went with him.

Everyone was desperate for a superstar so they bring in DJ instead of patience and staying the course. That’s when the team was lost.

  14. OutOfBounds420

For the record, I ain’t switching up. I been a Trae hater lmao

  15. SilverSlicker95

Trae is a great player and one of the best in the league, but the word generational gets thrown around too much.

  16. GunnerTardis

I ain’t ever switching up, I also give 0 fucks that Luka scored 73 tonight.

  17. Hak_Solo2020

Ain’t switchin up – Hawks fan for life – Trae is generational. F the narratives, F the media pundits who ain’t done shid, and F the hater players who may cost him another ASG appearance.

  18. I’ve been a hawks fan since the late 80s but I think the Ressler’s deserve the humiliation of being known for the family that totally ruined the hawks basketball team by their mismanagement of the squad assets and then eventually losing their one generational player. As fans we’ll suffer for a bit but hopefully the ressler’s will be so embarrassed that they decide to sell the team. If potentially owners think they can buy a club and milk it to bloat their own bank accounts without any regard for the fanbase or achieving success they’ve another thing coming and I think the Ressler’s have just proved you can be cheap and successful at the same time.

  19. True, what hawks need to pair him up is not a backcourt but a bigman. I hope they can trade djm and capela for assets.

  20. Yeah ppl need to realize this isn’t traes fault this is the FO’s fault. I doubt Trae is even 6 foot you need to have players who can defend around Trae. We thought DJM would help but it’s clear DJM is not the defender we thought he would be. Trae has improved on defense and he’s still elite on offense. I blame the FO for not properly building around Trae

  21. Just tossing the “generational talent” words around now.

Trae is a fantastic player and should’ve been an all-star starter twice now. But GENERATIONAL? That tag can’t go to multiple guys in the league at the same time. That’s Luka’s title.

  22. workingdad83

We need solid PF to replace Hunter. He doesn’t have to be a game changer. We just need him to be consistent. IDK like a 15/5/5 guy. And we need a game changing big man to go along with Trae that can work the pick and roll and post up and score down low. Preferably he does all the things a “Game Changing “ big man should do. Is that a pipe dream? Or am I completely off base?

  23. bananalaundrey

Anyone who thinks we can just trade trae and reset the team is sadly mistaken. Do you think ATL is getting a Mitchell trade package for trae? LOOK AT THE PLAYER AND MEDIA ALL-STAR VOTING. Sixth in the East on a max deal. Nobody is going to give value for trae on his contract.

  24. DearEmployee5138

Hot take, but We won this trade. Luka is very slightly better than Trae but other than a single playoff run a piece neither team has done much with their respective superstars. And then you add what a lot of people forget, the fact that it wasn’t a 1-1 trade. We also got the first rounder that got Cam Reddish, who was a very good wing for us for 3 years and then we traded him to the knicks for a 2022 first rounder. Which no matter how much research I do, I can’t for the life of me figure out what happened to it. It’s like our ownership of that 1st round pick in ‘22 was just wiped from existence. We picked AJ Griffin with our original pick but I can’t find any record of us even owning and trading that Knicks first round pick (originally owned by Charlotte) anywhere in the draft trade notes. So if anybody knows what the hell happened with that but lmk. Cam Reddish’s 3 solid years was more than enough for me to chalk it up as a win given I find a 1v1 trade Luka-Trae to be a draw.
