ducking sc00t and ducking a guaranteed MVP award

Joel can only miss 5 more games before he misses out on awards consideration ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)

I don’t think this dude is gonna hit the 65 game threshold. I know it’s all about being healthy in the playoffs but I feel like all the playoff injuries happened in or literally right before (both broken faces) the playoffs.

And yes I want Embiid to be a 2x mvp cause winning a championship with this current roster is not going to happen

  4. Ducking Ayton is such a bummer. Can’t believe this guy

  5. HisExcellency20

It’s crazy that he won’t be the MVP because of this new rule, but it’s absolutely insane won’t even be All NBA.

  6. DizzyJHippy

Yeah he isn’t getting any awards this year. What’s worse is the all-NBA team. They’re going to have Myles Turner or some shit over him.

  7. Let’s be real this team is not good enough to win a championship this year. Even if Joel averages 40 a game we’re losing in the conference finals at most. This season’s gonna be a total waste if he doesn’t get any awards.

  8. I’m glad they’re just resting him. Have him be as fresh as possible for the playoffs. Regular season doesn’t matter at all anymore.

  9. No_Introduction_7034

I really want to win the NBA championship. Nothing else should matter. I am getting old.

  10. Science4me12

They probably want to rest him today so that he can play tomorrow against warriors

Honestly I don’t know how it’s possible to win a championship with him as the best player with his injury history.

I know we’re all hoping for some miracle run but is it even possible for his body to stay healthy for 20+ straight playoff games when he hasn’t even been able to last for a single first round series without getting injured.

  12. Sit all the games he needs, idc about MVP now that he already has one. Give us one full playoff run with him at 100% and see what happens.

“He’s only ducking Portland so it doesn’t look bad that he didn’t play in Denver on Saturday”

    😳🤡

  14. SlapChopMyShamWow

I’ll trade all the missed Embiid games in the world for a healthy playoffs where their first round opponent doesn’t just start intentionally trying to injure him

  15. GrittyTheGreat

No chance he plays enough games to win MVP. Bummer. Its all about winning a chip though.

  16. Fuh_Fook_Sake

Relax everyone. There’s still a chance he gets MVP. Around this time last year, he missed the same amount of games and still finished with 66 games played. We’re good. Everyone relax. Our boy is getting that MVP!

  17. Just need him to be healthy. Hoping it’s not a reoccurring issue going forward. Sucks to lose out on mvp but we need him good to go for the playoffs

  18. jeppsforst

This is fucking tragic. The greatest individual regular season ever (up to this point) will likely be ineligible for any individual award bc he can’t stay healthy

  19. NutlessBlindSquirrel

This better be for them to gear up for tomorrow’s would be showdown, just run out PatBev and friends again.

  20. Unlikely-Painter4763

It’s funny because whoever would be number 2 is going to be the actual pity mvp at this rate.

  21. 215gobirdss

Yo he’s really dodging scoot Henderson, Matisse thybulle and Brogdon!! FrAuD

  22. Neat-Confidence5556

who cares about mvp honestly. we already saw him win one, and everyone will know who the rightful winner is. the bigger concern here is embiid’s injuries. they’re piling up. he just might be too injury prone to last a whole playoff run unfortunately

  23. EndAnyone

Honestly, if it’s close, I want the Sixers to just cheat the rule. Put him in for a few minutes, then sit him. Like, not getting all-NBA would be a crime. Let alone MVP.
