This was a TOUGH stretch and I don’t want to overreact but man they’re making it hard. Zion looked great at least when he wasn’t throwing the ball away.

Unless we dominate this easy stretch coming up, tough conversations need to be had abt Willie and CJs futures

  2. dominicklala1287

What an absolute choke job by everyone who stepped on the floor in the 4th. This sub’s least favorite player Jonas doesn’t see the floor in the floor in the 4th, and the team collapses.

  3. ___DEADPOOL______

How the fuck can a team be SO BAD in clutch moments. You would think we would have at least a single example of us actually performing in the clutch but we have fucked it up every single time

  4. _Wado3000

I’m sorry but I’m just a **million** percent certain that in playoff scenarios, I won’t trust CJ down the stretch, and believe Willie will get out coached, every single time. CJ is having a good season but he’s shrivelled up against good teams over, and over, and over. Willie could be a high end assistant coach but he’s **years** away from being the guy to lead us somewhere.

Between Naji and Dyson, at least one of them has to be out of here for a consistent 3 point shooter. I fw both but too redundant roster wise

Really good Z game and loved BI’s aggression throughout. Trey will break all the way through his slump eventually.

  5. Mesame121489

I hate how passive this team gets with a lead then they just decide to stop running plays in crunch time. That is what teams want and we give it to them. Willie needs to figure out later game offense it can’t keep just being BI or Z go make a play ugh. On to Houston, get this bad basketball out the way now and make a run.

  6. BubbleGumGuy94

Did cj give up like 4 and ones today? It seemed like he was fouling non stop?

  7. Slappyslappyslappy

Try Hawk in the clutch PLEASE. He’s the only player we have that’s not afraid to make a decision.

  8. Ja___av93

I get he is a big explosive guy. But Zion needs to talk to Nike and get better grip on his shoes. His feet slide out so much. And it was a huge turnover

  9. justaverage00

Visiting OKC fan, why didn’t JV get minutes down the stretch. Seemed like he played well and coaching staff just went away from him

  10. Razor-Ramon-Sessions

    Just folded down the stretch.

We don’t need to over analyze anything. Zion had like 3 TOs that led to points for the Celtics.

    They killed themselves.

And we couldn’t buy a 3. Trey still slumping like crazy, BI don’t make 3s, and CJ was trash tonight.

But I liked that it was competitive. This is what everyone wanted.

  11. FlockedDown

This team is extremely mid and our record is starting to reflect it.

  12. BobMarleynthewhalers

He said best fricking duo in the league. So why dont they play more together? Why is it always when someone gets hot they get taken out of rhythm like Zion in the 3rd. Willie would have 91′ Jordan play 30 minutes only in 6 minute increments. its really getting tiresome.

  13. twojace21

Everyone on this team must have a twin. Bc when the game is close towards the end of the game, the players all look the same, but they don’t play like how they played throughout the entire previous portion of the game so it must be someone else out there on the court.

But in all seriousness, it feels like this becomes a COMPLETELY different team at the end of close games. And it’s not just the gameplan (which is terrible) but also the players just seem to lack confidence and basic awareness. Like I’m def not a fan of Willie, but he’s definitely not the only reason for our late game struggles. From top to bottom this team just collapses in clutch moments. Hell I wouldn’t be surprised if even the water boy starts fumbling the Gatorade bottles at the end of games.

Ugh this team pisses me so much. But at the same time I love them and want nothing more for them to succeed.

  14. Oh damn, looks like it’s really starting to get away from us.

  15. JayDogon504

Was really shaping up to be by far our best win of the season but Zion ran outta gas in the 4th quarter. The game was really lost when we was up 8 with 7:54 left and Zion mistimed the defensive board which lead to Boston keeping the ball and hitting a 3. Then Zion missed a poor shot, barely got back in transition which lead to another bucket. Trey then misses a 3 and they hit a 3 and bang, 8-0 run, tie game just like that. Tough L but there’s obviously no shame in losing to Boston and especially not on the road

  16. DankSinatraSr

I’m so fucking tired of Willie Green and his Dennis Allen-esq post game bullshit. We get it, you have no fucking idea what you’re doing and are relying on your players to bail you out.

Rotations are constantly terrible, can’t win crunch time games, and the team is incredibly inconsistent in just about every aspect outside of losing every crunch time game.

Where the fuck was Jonas in the 4th? Why does Dyson continue to get so many minutes when he makes our offense play 4v5? Why do we continuously let teams hunt CJ without any kind of change?

This team will never contend for anything as long as this dude is calling our rotations.

  17. SpaceAfricanJesus

    10-35 to 17-46 from 3.

BI hit some tough shots, played a pretty good game. Not super efficient but I can respect taking 8 3s. I’d rather he hit more than 2 and the 2nd one happening before the game was basically over.

Zion had a phenomenal 3rd quarter and early 4th. Had a couple bad turnovers in the 4th and some really bizarre play calls for him to score. I’m still not understanding his minutes and when he goes out or comes back into games. The one rebound he missed in the 4th in a way sparked a Celtics run, but there were many chances to stop it before it really got going. WG should’ve called a timeout way sooner but we knew that wasn’t happening.

Oh yea WG was AWFUL this game. 0 minutes of Trey, Hawk, and Dyson playing together. Among other things I could go on.

Another game of just not being good enough against a top tier team.

  18. How many blown leads away are you from understanding that the Zion-BI pairing does not work and that WG is a top 3 worst coach in the league?

  19. j_palazzolo

You can defend him if you want, but Willie Green has shown time and time again he has no idea what lineups and rotations fit this team the best in order to close out games.

Either he grows and learns very quickly or we find someone that can. We can’t keep repeating this story over and over.

  20. Really hope Trey breaks through his slump.

Let’s beat the Rockets and go above .500 in a very tough January.

  21. Every game WG goes to the D lineup and the D gets even worse. He closed with Valanciunas vs Mavs and he won the game.

  22. rustyspoonman

Zion has got to start taking and making mid range shots for him to become an elite player. Force him or bench him. It’s time to find out if this roster can work. We’ve waited too damn long for his game to remain completely one dimensional

  23. CurvaceousTopG

I’m convinced that they dropped 40 on CJ

  24. tulsuduke

This would have been a nice win, but not terribly surprised at the outcome.

Pels have a chance to right the ship in the next three games: at Houston, at San Antonio and home vs Toronto. I would be immensely disappointed if these collection of players can’t take care of business and go 3-0.

  25. A play that may not matter in the big scheme but shows how this team is, is the last play of the 3rd. You got the momentum and got the ball to go up by 8 into the 4th. Instead of running everything, BI just dribbled the ball for 20 seconds to take a step back highly contested long 2.

  26. The_Paleking

NGL the best this team ever looked was the Point-Zion Era for SVG. That team would slaughtered people for a bit.

I’m not saying SVG was the answer, but this team really lacks and identity.

  27. jruegod11

This team needs an overhaul if they’re serious about winning at the highest level… Maybe the front office is happy to be mid

  28. If they’re going to play JV with the second unit, it makes legitimately no sense to not run the offense through him.

Anytime they do it, it works. Even the end of the 3rd, went to him, were up 7 when he checked out. Willie 🤷🏻‍♀️

  29. CApt_DuCky

At least we play the rockets, spurs and raptors next

  30. BatmanHive

Willie had two horrible lineups down the stretch, the first one was his favorite which is all defense + Ingram and Trey, and as much as I like Trey he isn’t creating his own looks, so it’s pretty Ingram do everything on offense. You can get away with that bs early on but with 4 mins left in the game, you can not.

The second one was Zion at the 5. Zion already struggles rebounding at his position, putting him at 5, Celtics just continued going inside and if Pels doubled, they got open 3s. JV is the best rebounder on this team and it is a huge necessity, and he constantly gets benched. He isn’t the best defender, but you live and die with him and if you continue dying, then you can put that on the FO. When you take him out, that is on you.

CJ also has to show up at these big matchups, it’s way too many times he becomes timid in these big games, have seen it last year and this year.

I didn’t have many problems with BI/Zion tonight, they played well for most part and got their attempts which is how it should be.

Tonight was a tough game, Celtics are 20-2 at home, at least this was competitive but it is frustrating to lose a game that was winnable.

  31. JosephStall

Are we just not gonna talk about how CJ disappears against actually good teams? When we need him the most he’s mediocre. BI and Zion set him up with wide ass open shots too but he still disappears

  32. dominicklala1287

Willie does some dumb shit, but why do the players (besides CJ) continuously get a pass for shitting the bed consistently in the fourth quarter? This sub’s infatuation with firing Willie to hire the Pelicans DA in James Borrego is insanity. This team has serious personnel issues, and it starts with not having a killer in the 4th. For some reason, it seems everyone gets passive/ ice cold in the 4th
