Embiid: “I’d rather be a football player than a basketball player. That’s how much I love it. There’s nothing close to a bigger sport in the world, nothing close to it. I like the concept of a team. In basketball, if you have 2 good players you can win but in football, the team has to be together.”

Ant Edwards and Embiid promising each other to compete as football players after their NBA careers (Ant doesn’t know Embiid is talking about soccer)

“In basketball if you have 2 good players you can win” is a hell of a take.

He’s talking about football not eggball btw

  4. I feel for all the 6’6″+ athletic guys who got pushed into basketball over sports that they loved more just because they were tall.

Someone change the Larry O Brien trophy to the Ballon D’Or and he might win some playoff games

  6. thatsmrtoyou

He’s ain’t wrong about football being the best sport there is..

This thread is a great look into the average IQ of an r/nba user

If all you need is 2 good players why haven’t they won anything in 40 years

  9. When Embid says: “the biggest sport in the world” people here really think he’s talking about American football 😂

It’s not a competition, but there are a lot of beautiful things about football. You can play it anywhere, all it takes is a ball and a plain surface. All bodies can play, tall, short it doesn’t matter. As Embiid says, it is a team game, it is a sport where the chain is not stronger than its weakest link, which is a good mentality to teach kids. And it is beloved world wide. Football is a very democratic sport

  11. Its crazy to me how so many people in this thread are saying basketball isn’t as much of a team sport or that you can win with only a couple good players. Haven’t the Lakers been blaming one scape goat every season as the reason LeBron and AD can’t win? The Nets didn’t win anything with KD Harden and Kyrie, same for the last thunder regime and that other super team in LA. There are so many super star players who haven’t done shit because they don’t have a full team behind them.

Fun fact, there’s never been a 7 foot soccer player. Tallest ever was 6”10, and he was a goalie

  13. graveyeverton93

Would genuinely have him as a Centre Back over Michael Keane.

Yo Embiid, Chelsea need a striker. We need our new Drogba. Come along man. Palmer and Enzo will get you pinpoint crosses for you score 10 headers a game man.

Non-Americans don’t miss a chance to be as annoying and condescending as possible on this site, huh?

Dude would be a wall in net, he’d have the upper hand in penalty kicks

  17. burnerbabyburns

I’m pretty neutral on Embiid but I wonder of the people who suck off Jokic for saying stuff like this are gonna be in here hating

  18. PensiveinNJ

Embiid was a footballer first, then went into volleyball before trying basketball at like 16.

Kind of funny how he kept growing out of one sport and into another.

  19. savethearthdontbirth

Dude wouldn’t have to play Jokic in Denver if he was a footballer. Basically always dodging.

  20. iceicebabyvanilla

How to be a great NBA player featuring Jokic and Embiid. Make sure you don’t like basketball.

  21. Brokengan

See? Nba players are just like us. They also hate their jobs. The only difference is that they make millions doing it.

  22. No-Chemistry-5356

Best players in the league like horses and soccer
