IMO Lakers need to rethink not trading Austin
Selling high on him while he has fairly solid value around the league when they are a piece or two away makes sense.
Moving him in the package for Dejounte makes a ton of sense.
Lakers are a much better team with a lineup of Russell, Murray, Prince/Vando, Bron, AD
Than that same lineup with Reaves instead of Russell.
If anything, they need to be holding onto Rui instead of Reaves. Rui has shown he can be solid at both ends even hitting some threes when needed. Austin has shown virtually nothing on the defensive end and his offense has even looked pretty bad lately.

Reaves defense never looked natural to me. His footwork shows me he’s terrified of being beat on the drive. He will always give a lot of space, and his footing and body language shows he’s ready to back peddle if you drive on him, especially if you’re a good iso player and he will just put his hand up after the shot to show he tried contesting but he is not scaring anyone. Beal cooked him badly.
