Was wondering when someone was gonna post this. Lmao

That’s awful. Someone needs to get fired. Holy shit what a terrible decision.

I’ll again caveat that I’m a Marks truther in saying this, but if this is true this is completely deranged and deluded thinking lol.

Insane to turn this down if true. The team is 23rd in record without a draft pick this year and no cap space this offseason. Why be bad for two seasons and not have your pick instead of being bad and having your pick?

It needs to be ALL of our picks and swaps, I believe the initial report only said it was some of them.

If it gets to the point ALL of our picks are offered and Marks actually rejected it, he better have something big planned for next year.

On a business stand point, nets know they can’t tank when the Knicks are this good. They will lose even more fans and money.

They probably broke down the numbers and thought it through.

  7. The likelihood of a single pick yielding a player better than bridges is fairly low, before even factoring how far out we’d have to wait to get that type of production. Would need to know what the full offer was.

Beyond stupid by Marks not to do this even if not all of our picks would be coming back. Joe Tsai needs to clean house with Marks and Vaughn at the end of the season

imagine taking the offer, one year of developing Cam, Sharpe, Wilson with Ben as a. veteran presence with 0 pressure and trying to get a top 4 overall pick, then getting assets back from DFS, CJ, Dinwiddie and O’neale perhaps even tanking next year too for Copper Flagg. Instead we’re attempting to lure superstars to brooklyn when everyone knows how that went last year and build round a good (3rd option?) player in Bridges…

What is “several picks” here? Like getting back this years pick isn’t particularly helpful. Draft class sucks too.

In a vacuum, it’s probably the right move, but as a fan, I really don’t have any interest in watching the team bottom out and win 12 games again for the *chance* of stumbling on a guy who turns the franchise around. You can just as easily end up as the Pistons or the Hornets. Or end up with Derrick Favors instead of Wall or Boogie Cousins lol.

  11. Prioritizing a 27 year old fringe all star over having the potential to develop homegrown stars while being to obtain draft picks to eventually go all in on a superstar all while still having excess first round draft picks is malpractice I’m sorry.

I love me some Mikal so maybe thats why i’m not all that pissed hearing this, but it really depends on what the full offer would’ve been.

Then again, based on the wording of the report, it looks like there never even was a “full offer” made, because Marks didn’t even want to entertain the idea. Which is… definitely a choice.

Has to be all the picks back and some of their youth – amen, green, whitmore – combo of guys

I’d do Mikal for 2025 pick and remove swap from 2026. Only 2 picks but those 2 classes are stacked at the top.

This can’t be real. If there’s any truth to this – how does Marks still run the team? Brutal.

Is that dude Mike even a source, somehow this dude has talked to all 30 teams and has intel, and never right

  17. theRestisConfettii

    Wow, is my first reaction.

My second reaction is umm.. the 2025 swap was traded to another team by Houston. So what are you trying to trade back?

My third reaction is, it isn’t a fair trade for the Nets but I respect Houston’s hustle. I would have made the same offer if I was Houston.

My fourth reaction is, there is no better indicator that the Nets are all-in with Mikal Bridges.

  18. You can wait another week before the deadline for a better offer from Houston, if they really need it, they will improve the offer. What kind of offer was not known, it could have been an offer from Brooks and 2024, 2025. And if Mitchell told Bridges that he wanted to play on the same team with him, then 4 frp is garbage.
