[95.7 The Game] “We’re not going to find better players than [Chris Paul & Gary Payton II] in a trade. It’s exceedingly rare to make a deal where you can upgrade your talent to that level.” – Steve Kerr discussing the return of CP3 & GP2 around the trade deadline

  1. You can still find an upgrade at the 5 position over what we currently have though. No ones asking to replace those two. You can still move some pieces without touching the current starting lineup and neither of cp3/gpii.

You’ve got Looney, Moody, TJD, picks to work with. That can get you a solid backup 5. Because Dario is not a 5.

  2. Exactly. Everyone clamoring for a CP trade just because he’s on an expiring can’t actually be watching the games this season because he is THE reason our bench was the best in the league before his injury. Full stop. Also every single one of our best closing lineups (as in objectively good, not “warriors suck so best of bad good”) has him in it. What on earth do you think you’d be accomplishing by trading him? What trade comes out a net positive for the Warriors factoring in those contributions from him?

Maybe not as talent but better fitting💀.

Athletic Alchemy suggested a CP3 & Looney trade for Ben Simmons.

Dubs could potentially do something like that and rotate him & Dray at Center.

The ‘ol Yankees theory. Getting an injured player back is just as good as making a trade.

  6. Haven’t seen anyone even talk about trading CP or GP.

    Wiggins and Klay.

And Looney if you can get a younger athletic big like Claxton.

Maybe not better but for sure healthier. I love GPII and his impact is clear but I don’t think it’s realistic his body will hold up. If they do keep him maybe keep him on a restricted 10-15 minutes, splitting time with Podz, but having him play any more than that is just asking for trouble. I don’t mind keeping CP3 either but need to restrict his minutes as well to 20-25. IMO the only guys that should be getting 30min + are Steph, this version of Wiggins, JK, and Dray. Everyone else can be restricted, including Klay

This pretty much settles it. I can see our big move being Moody for a washed vet min guy and a couple late 2nd round picks good for 4 years from now.

I mean we can still go for a decent big, and if that makes us losing wiggs im fine with it, we still look smal as fuck, not only that but loopn aint been looking good this year.

Honestly I want CP3 to stay because I’m delusional to believe he’s gonna win a ring here. I hated CP3 for as long as I remember but I feel like he deserves a ring and what a poetic ending to a stellar career if Steph and the Warriors are the ones he’ll win it with. I guess you can say I still have faith in this team.

It would only makes sense to trade him if we could get back an all star level player who would be a game changer right away. Other than that there are not basketball or financial reasons to trade him.

Everybody is complaining about the guards line up- they’re winning those minutes. I wish most of the takes here could be backed up by data and tape rather than the “eye test”

  12. Brokengan

So Kerr is saying that Cp3 and Gp2 is better than Siakam?
Cause he was an asset in this mid season trade.
Not saying they should have went for him tought.

  13. Maybe not, but can we find someone more available? With JK moving to the starting unit, we desperate need a scoring punch off the bench. Klay can help with that when he gets minutes with the 2nd unid, but we need another guard who can score alongside him.

  14. If we could just use Chris Paul strictly for the non Steph minutes he’s fine. But Kerr tends to want more and that hurts the defense.

  15. DaUnionBaws

Nah trading CP3 would be insane. Dude is a great off the bench asset with excellent play making abilities and high basketball IQ. Guys like that are not a dime a dozen.

  16. Objective_Celery_509

Bro your team is not good. Don’t just do nothing

  17. TemporaryValue5755

I do think fans are forgetting how injured and suspended we were. Dray gp2 moody cp3 have all missed so many games. Thats a lot of talent and arguably are 2 best defenders not playing. If we get healthy the second half of the season could look very different in a good way.

  18. PoolePartyVIP

Wait until he learns you can both trade picks and trade multiple players

  19. DaSmoothOperator88

Keep the team as is. Don’t listen to these foos that don’t know basketball.

  20. tb23tb23tb23

You could say the exact same thing about a refreshed Wiggins and emergent Kuminga
