  1. Rehabilitation time for a meniscus repair is about 3 to 6 months. A meniscectomy requires less time for healing — approximately 3 to 6 weeks.

Time to get ready for baseball season I guess…

  3. It’s sad but you really can’t give him the super max extension. There’s no justification that it will work out even remotely ok.

that’s actually great news, considering what I thought might be happening

  5. Just a frustratingly shit slow healing injury, could be a few weeks or a few months out depending on severity, treatment etc but it’s a genuine shit injury with more questions than answers I feel
(I’m a recreational runner who is currently recovering from 2 tears in my right meniscus, and while I obviously don’t have the options for treatment and recovery as a million dollar athlete I can still comment on how frustrating this injury is)

  6. What did we ever fucking do to deserve this. Feel for the big fella.

Joel’s knees are so toast. This is actually depressing man

There goes this season. 💀 Honestly we need to start thinking about building around Maxey.

  9. Oof sucks. Feel so bad for Joel. Dude can’t catcha break. He can maybe be back for playoffs but he ain’t going to be right for at least a year most likely. Even with a mild meniscus tear it takes a long time to feel right again. I’ve torn my meniscus in both my legs and each time took like a year till I felt normal again. You can walk the day of the surgery depending if it’s just a clean outs but a full repair he’s out for a long long time

“SF Chronicle cites a 2012 study by the American Journal of Sports Medicine stating that ‘129 NBA players with meniscus tears over a 21-year span missed an average of 40 days.'”

“Dad, tell me about November 2023 – January 2024 Joel Embiid.”

Even if it’s only 8 weeks just keep him out until a week before the playoffs ffs
