> While the Wizards have stated an asking price to inquiring teams of a first-round pick for floor general Tyus Jones, rival executives have indicated a confidence that Washington will ultimately be willing to move on from Jones for a package of multiple second-round picks. Last year’s trade deadline did see various players dealt for three and as many as five seconds.

> Minnesota remains active in the reserve point guard market, according to league sources. Perhaps the Timberwolves will be the landing spot for Jones, bringing the point guard back to his first franchise and his hometown area. Sources said Minnesota is also considering two additions at the position who overlapped with team president Tim Connelly in Denver: Monte Morris and Bones Hyland.

Honestly, I don’t see many teams giving up a 1st for Tyus. Perhaps the Knicks, with their 1st round picks from other teams and an expiring Fournier. Other contending teams might struggle to match his salary without sacrificing rotational players. Additionally, the 2nd-round pick the Wolves own (currently 37th) is not far from their 1st (currently 29th).

It will be an interesting six days.

Finch on Monday: “I need a backup PG”
Connelly on Tuesday: *trades for Bones Hyland*
Finch on Wednesday: “I need a backup PG”

  3. I’ve been saying Bones would be an okay reclamation project to seek. Still showed scoring prowess off the bench before Harden arrived and he started getting DNPs.

Morris is interesting because he’s been injured all year. Should be cheaper than Jones.

Think someone will ultimately offer a 1st for Jones.

I’m gonna need a pic of Connelly hugging Monte Morris stepping off the PJ like he’s Morey greeting Harden on the Philly tarmac 😂😂. 🎵 Reunited and it feels so good!! 🎵

  5. I don’t think you all realize how terrible Bones Hyland is as a defender. I went to a pickup game over the summer that Kyrie put on. A handful of pros (I went because they had Naz on all the promo materials), and a bunch of guys that played in college or overseas or G league. Pretty low quality outside of Kyrie. I think Bones and Moses Brown were the only other NBA guys.

Bones’ defense was so fucking bad that it was egregious, even in a pickup game environment. These random guys that never even got an NBA tryout were all going at Bones every chance they could and absolutely fucking cooking him. On the other side, Bones looked off Kyrie every time he touched the ball, and mostly just chucked threes.

    I’m out on Bones.

Sounds like Tyus is our first option, but where not trading a first or any significant rotation player for him so unless the Wiz are willing to accept a package of seconds along with Leonard miller or shake or whoever, I think we go for Hyland or Morris.

Honestly pretty happy with whoever we get from those 3, each one of them would be able to contribute way more than what we would be sending out.
