> While the Wizards have stated an asking price to inquiring teams of a first-round pick for floor general Tyus Jones, rival executives have indicated a confidence that Washington will ultimately be willing to move on from Jones for a package of multiple second-round picks. Last year’s trade deadline did see various players dealt for three and as many as five seconds.
> Minnesota remains active in the reserve point guard market, according to league sources. Perhaps the Timberwolves will be the landing spot for Jones, bringing the point guard back to his first franchise and his hometown area. Sources said Minnesota is also considering two additions at the position who overlapped with team president Tim Connelly in Denver: Monte Morris and Bones Hyland.

They know DawkWing’s desperate to trade his expiring contract for something. I think their best bet is to leverage multiple existing offers for Jones to get a teams front office to eventually crumble and give up a 1st.
The question is, are their multiple teams bidding for him? How many other options do they have? The article mentions Morris and Hyland, but I think it’s clear Jones is superior
Second round picks feels underwhelming since Tyus has been one of our better players but as an expiring rental it’s much better than losing him for nothing in the offseason
Couldn’t wizards just sign him next year with multi year contract? We actually have 0 point guard on the roster. We can give him a reasonable 2 yr contract. We can use that as a leverage with multiple team’s offer.
Someone who misses out on other targets will budge.
They are going to be the first team in history to attempt to rebuild using only second round picks.
