Devin seemingly saying: “Give me the ball”

Devin seemingly says ,”Give me the ball” with a little bit of frustration.

I really don’t want to pile on to the whole “Devin thinks he’s the Batman on the team” narrative (I think it’s stupid), this video just caught my attention. Not sure if I’m interpreting this interaction wrong, just wanted to know what you guys think?

Apologies for the weird format, couldn’t upload properly.

Have absolutely no problems with this. This is what we want. When Wemby is off the floor, Dev needs the offense to run through him. This is what we want.

Stop over analyzing everything. It’s a young team that’s learning. Let them learn.

  3. Context. That lineup was Devin, Zach, Osman, Blake, and Champagnie. It was during the 3rd when Sochan was taken off due to foul trouble and Pop took Wemby out at the same time.

Yes, in this lineup with Devin red hot, give him the ball!

  4. KuyaJohnny

He was wide open, he should be getting the ball there every time

    Nothing wrong with that

I see we’re on the blame Devin train now? Sochan isn’t enough anymore huh?

“I really don’t want to pile on to the whole “Devin thinks he’s the Batman on the team” narrative ”

So I’ll just post a headline that implies Devin was demanding the ball when Wemby was on the floor.

You can see he’s talking to **Blake Wesley**. Blake is young and learning. It didn’t click for Blake that when Wemby sits, give the ball to Devin. He probing and looking for holes in the defense when Devin was right there, and having a great shooting night.

if devin made that shot nobody would care anyway lol

This was an awesome moment. He had a crazy layup right after this. He was hot and the ball didn’t find him down the floor a few times. It’s exactly what I want to see from Devin.

I think everyone is overreacting again. Its easy for us to say you missed Wemby! But remember if you are on that position and only have few seconds left you would think of shooting the ball instead of looking to pass.

Our young core are not perfect and clearly far from it. This is a learning opportunity for Devin.

  10. did anyone also catch Wemby say “SHUT UP” to someone when he was trying to focus before taking a free throw?

i’m pretty sure it was someone on the team too lol

  11. He was playing with the bench unit and before this there were like 3 possessions that resulted in a turnover, a Zach 1v1 in Jonas and then I think a contested Blake jump shot lol. This is an absolute nothing burger

To be honest, and I won’t lie to you. This is exactly what everyone should want. There is no way you want a rookie to be the best on our team. That’s crazy. Imo he should be Batman because Wemby is still literally a rookie. Everyone had vets that led their team for a bit even when the prospect was generational Wemby should be no different to be honest. Also after the beginning of the year of him being passive he better demand the ball and get aggressive. Don’t get me wrong, I fully understand Wemby is the better player and should be our Batman in the future. But for most games we should be carried by a vet and it makes sense that it’s Vassell. To me it’s about damn time.

Meh, Vassell has the biggest contract on the team as a 23 year old so really it’s natural for this type of thing to happen. It would be more of a problem if he shied away from the big moment. Victor also cant have it all right now. In due time for everyone

This is fine. He made a bad call at the end it is what it is

Aaaand.. He’s right. THE most frustrating thing this season was our guys just overlooking Devin the first 40ish games. Even moreso than Wemby. I can understand it taking an adjustment to realize “Oh I can just throw the ball 12 feet in the air? Really? Wow”. But when you know a guy is hooping you give him the ball and get out the way.

Idc. Devin was playing more agressive tonight and I don’t see a problem with demanding the ball when Wembys off the floor. Devin was hot while everyone else was struggling to score.
