If we can get assets, yes… If they give us anything, yes. If they say no, yes.

Yeah Detroit is going to throw the bag at Tobi just like Houston was going to throw the bag at Harden….rrrrrrriiiiiiiight

Yes. I dont like the idea of having bird rights and possibly resigning him
Sixers14
Yes but detroit dont have a lot to offer, they dont have picks from other team and wont trade ivey for tobias. Would need be at least a 3 team trade because detroit dont have good players available for us in the trade

In today’s NBA, Tobi’s actual value is probably like 3yrs/$20M per. If the Pistons (or anyone else) is gonna throw him 4-5yrs/$25-30M per this summer, then I’d swallow the tough pill of trading him now for something of value. But who really knows what will happen this summer. Tough call.

If they trade for him, wouldn’t they retain his bird rights in order to more easily re-sign him?
HoagieTwoFace
Are we going to get Cade, Ivey, or Ausar for him lol
NoCup4U
Unless he’s becoming a restricted FA this summer, they don’t have to throw anything at him, his contract is expiring and will be a FA.

see for a team like Detroit, Harris can be a great culture/veteran piece. he’s not going to win them a championship, but Detroit really needs to start from the ground up at this point and getting somebody like Harris who is a professional in the league is worth more to them than his actual on court stats.
We hate on Tobias, but he’s been a professional since he joined this team and he doesn’t miss games.
I would love to have them on the team next year if we could get some sort of deal but I fear he’s going to be too much money for us

fuck no… our fanbase is moronic. Resign tobi 5 years 25 mill a year.

Be cool to get distressed asset Killian Hayes out of this.

Why would Detroit do that now for a lost season when they can just secure him for slightly more money than the Sixers end of season sans picks?

I’m conflicted because I worry about hurting our team next year if we haven’t adequately replaced him, which might be hard to do. If Morey has reason to think Tobias is looking at a ridiculous contract elsewhere, fine, I guess move him. But I have been shocked with how well this team looked under Nick Nurse and wouldn’t mind running it back next year with role player type additions.

Tobias cannot be traded for picks. There isn’t a contender out there that would value him on his salary and the pistons aren’t actually going to trade real value for a guy they can sign this summer. The only reason this report is out there is because they would be willing to take in his salary in a three way deal if the sixers were going to take in big money.

no I think they should send him to Thailand, have him train in muy thai, win a local MMA tournament, return to the US, and be the first player to execute a kimura during a game

who said the season is over? yea we havent played well in the past without embiid but if maxey continues playing like he did against utah and the rest of the team can be SOMEWHAT consistent especially toobs then we can still make the playoffs as a 4 or 5 seed and maybe steal a round
