> It is not yet known if the talks will progress to something more serious.

> Williams’ first season in Dallas has been undeniably disappointing, but his ability to guard a wide variety of players is said to intrigue Milwaukee, which is known to be searching for defensive upgrades.

  1. Weird move, but at least we get an enforcer and rebounder in Portis. Sign me up.

How did the Bucks FO watch our game with them & thought “yeah we need to swap Portis with Grant” ??

  3. That would be pretty good. Not even talking about current form of Grant and Portis but getting someone big who is agressive would be pretty great. Grant isnt playing good rn but other than his form i dont like his fit with this roster at all. Luka is slow then you put underheight slow feet Grant who you bought for his defence but its not getting better at all.

Grant is a couple years younger and under contract for 1 more year, other than that I can’t think of any reason Milwaukee would want to make this trade. They must be thinking of the Grant who scored 27 against them in Game 7

Why on earth the Bucks would do this is beyond me but I would take this in a heartbeat

These are the kind of moves I’m liking from Nico. May not be splashy, but also not necessarily costing us anything. The Mavs have gotten so used to home run swings, it’s nice to see us try to fill out a roster a bit at a time.

How is Bobby’s defense? Looking at his rebounding and efficiency numbers he looks great, but there’s gotta be a catch here.

Damn poor Grant. If this goes through, imagine the embarrassment of not even lasting half a season after getting traded to a new team.

We could use a guy that can foul and get away with it on defense, but I’m sure as soon as he puts on a Mavs jersey, he’ll average 6 fouls per game.

We’d be significantly better with Portis at the 4. He’s not a game changer by any stretch, but this would be a noted improvement in several areas. A player for player swap also keeps our treasure chest open for more front court talent.

Id drive him to Milwaukee myself…and I am from EU.

  12. Assuming there are no other assets attached to it from our side, I do this deal in a freaking heartbeat. I don’t think Williams will forever be in this slump but Portis is more of a need for now and it gets us out from under his contract sooner rather than later.

Id love that, give them a srp too if thats what it takes

  14. richlynnwatson

In the words of Lt. Aldo Rains “I’d make that deal.”

If we get Portis that would mean we are out of the kuzma trades. Wiggins and Grant would be the remaining targets for the 3. Maybe even Deni.

He’s a better fit for rebounding purposes

Please don’t overthink it Milwaukee and just say yes.

  18. I’m not super excited about this trade but I am surprised to find out that Portis is only 28 lmao

As a Bucks fan the bucks would need something of value coming back, either omax or draft comp so they could make another trade

  20. If we manage to get this trade, that would be big win for us.Good 3pt shooter and great rebounder.
