I’ve said this before, but I feel like Kawhi & Harden are very similar personalities, which is the opposite of what their media reputation would tell you (Kawhi is an emotionless robot and Harden is an emotional diva).
They’re both stone cold killers, fairly quiet, laid back and unimposing (they definitely have ‘aura’ lol, but not imposing about it), they both have that ‘class clown’ mentality by always cracking quick-witted jokes. It really pisses me off how the media and fans have ran with this narrative on Kawhi, like people actually think he’s incapable of understanding a joke or that he has no concept of what humour is…
Not to mention they’ve been battling against each other since the 2012 WCF! Those Rockets/Clippers regular season games always had that playoff intensity. And of course who could forget Harden’s infamous love tap on Kawhi’s butt after hitting a stepback 3 perfectly defended by Kawhi — it’s that mutual respect gained after ‘going to war’.
Pure speculation ofc but I’ve always thought they had very similar personalities.
