Tyus has the best assist to turnover ratio in the nba. He’s a floor general who can get others involved and score when needed. The transition to Tyus starting should be seamless, since he’s similar to his brother in a lot of ways but better in some key areas. No level of upgrade at any position would turn the Spurs into a potential play-in hopeful. but trying to facilitate the development of others and providing Victor Wembanyama with some help to finish the season strong could be useful.
Trae Young would be wayyy better 🎉
I like him. That will allow us to get the best available player in the next draft.
He might help the defense a bit more than expected, given that a good offense can get more scoring opportunities, therefore giving the defense a chance to set up.
It's up to the spurs.u guess too much.
I would of love Trae Young but if we do get Tyus Jones it probably be a motive for his brother

There is no limit to the number of strong wing defenders a team with Wemby could use.

I like the idea of this but then we have a revolving door of too small PGs
IMO, we just can finish the season with Tre and have Blake back him up and continue to develop as well. This upcoming draft, we can get Cody Williams, a 6'8 wing who plays as a PG for Colorado. He's labeled as a wing but he has brought the ball up and initiated their offense more than their PG. Have him develop 1-2 years while Tre is still in contract. If we get Toronto's pick, we can get defensive players like Ryan Dunn, or even Risacher, Holland, Buzelis, Castle if they're avaliable. .
The Spurs don’t need Tyus Jones. They need an upgrade, and he’s not.
🤦🏽♂️ if it’s not about Trae, why are we even talking about it. Anyone else that could be available before the trade deadline doesn’t matter because it won’t make the team better. Everyone else, that we currently know about, is a net negative.
Why do you think the Spurs are going to get better drafting 19 year old kids that don’t know have defensive principles instilled in them. If they go that route getting ready to be disappointed.
I wouldn't love if we got Tyus Jones because I am still a fan of Blake Wesley, he is a pesky defender who can have Marcus Smart / Bones Hyland potential if he finds his shot. Tyus would essentially put Wesley out of the rotation, and Tyus isn't a great defender either.
Tyus can Shoot the 3! Maybe he could take time to train his little bro.
It's not a star by any means, but still it's an interesting upgrade for the pg spot

Kinda prefer Bones Hyland more than Tyus. He's taller, younger and cheaper contract . Good offensive threat too.
Having a more structured offense helps our defense.
Less turnovers -> less transition buckets for the other teams.
We are dead last in 3pt%.. a missed 3 is a long rebound -> easy transition buckets for other teams.
Thats why people say for decades that the pg is the most important position.

Get Ryan Dunn in the draft with the second pick and move up to the first round to get him if you want a defensive wing. He’s the best defensive small forward and very underrated

He would be a solid point guard but the lack of size is there. We should draft Risacher at 2 from France and McCuller Jr from Kansas at 7 according to mock drafts in the 2024 draft in the first round.
this is a good place holder, ithinl we need a wing defender more than a pg, if we are getting a point guard its better if its a veteran than a rookie who needs time to cook or mature. this is a good pikcup if we can get this deal, and this will have positive effect with tre also since his brother can mentor him and serve also a challenge to him to get better
