> As noted during a guest appearance on YES Network, the Nets are not interested in a late first-round pick nor a pick in the 2024 NBA Draft in any trade talks for Finney-Smith, league sources told HoopsHype. For Brooklyn to consider trading Finney-Smith, it would take a future first-round pick starting in 2025 or beyond that has a chance to be a potential Top 20 pick, sources said. Besides Bridges, Finney-Smith has drawn the most trade interest of any Net player heading into the deadline.

It makes sense, DFS is a valuable player, the Nets know that and aren’t settling for a cheap return.

Dfs is the guy we actually don’t have to trade. We have another year and if hes not garnering any interest we can keep him

I’m convinced if the Nets don’t get a good offer (top 3 protected or 2 top 10 protected picks), Nets keep him with the hopes of luring Luka here.

My guess is the Nets are hoping they can sign Mitchell in FA and can trade for Trae/Luka if things flame out with their respective teams

Marks will probably move him in the offseason. Contenders will have more picks to trade

Dallas wants to trade Grant Williams for DFS and Nets want Williams and a pick or a young player. Grant Williams SUCKS. He’s the exact opposite of the type of player we need. He’s basically another Cam Johnson stiff. We need a longer big wing who can help defend the paint and can guard his position.

  6. The new CBA rules are ruining trade deadline week. Everyone is petrified of the penalities of being over the tax apron. Trading guys who arent expiring is shaping up to be a problem.

I would ask OKC for Houston’s 2024 pick in addition to another pick too.

If the Nets hold Houston’s 2024 pick we can either pick a player in the lottery which is where Houston looks like ending up. Their pick is top 4 protected but it’s unlikely to be anywhere close to that given the standings.

A top 10/12 pick would probably get us another young rotation player even if this draft is considered weak.

However, If Houston wanted to their 2024 pick back because they might want to add another player drafted in the lottery then the Nets could ask for the 2025 pick swap to be extinguished and we can probably request our 2024 pick back especially if the Nets make the play-offs.

If a contender/playoff team is desperate enough they will make the call with a good offer, if not, wait till offseason. Marks couldn’t care less.

They should’ve flipped him last yr for the two picks. There was no reason to keep him, Royce or dinwiddie. They all had way more value last yr and even in the offseason
