[Kawakami] At this point, I’m not expecting fireworks from the Warriors at tomorrow’s trade deadline. It’s gotta be something that would make them better now & next season. It’s much likelier that the Warriors will try to do some roster recalibrating next offseason when they’ll have more options

They will be over the cap still and won’t be able sign anything but Vet Mins. Maybe another trade materializes that they like better but doing nothing is just as risky as doing something.

Mike Dunleavy Jr. : “Here in San Fransisco, we’re progressive. We don’t believe in aging.”

Yeah, I think the Warriors have clearly indicated that this roster is the roster for the season. They just have to figure out the Klay/Wiggins/Looney playing time conundrum.

I do think a trade of any one of these guys would’ve simplified things for them. But they clearly didn’t find anything attractive out there.

  4. Not taking advantage of CP3’s expiring might burn them next year

  5. We wont be very attractive next summer if they dont even make the play offs . Team that scores a L while Steph is dropping 60

If we can make a smaller move I would like to see them do that. But I agree, there aren’t really any larger moves that make sense for us right now.

Klank will be worth even less last year. We basically lose 2 max slots if we don’t trade cp or Klay…

They’ll trade CoJo for a bag of peanuts and give a roster spot to Quinones instead of the two-way.

  9. No shit, I’ve been saying this for a while now. They don’t have super tradable pieces, we already see how dangerous it can be to trade 1sts when your team is wobbling and several games under .500 right before the All Star break, and more than any other reason the Warriors have the most expensive payroll in the league, not just landing them in the super expensive repeater tax but also putting them behind the new, very punitive second apron.

They also have Draymond on a reasonable contract that lines up with the remaining Steph years, Klay is going to learn this off season that is market value is now well below the max he has been earning, and CP3’s big money will come off the books.

The Warriors have to get their salary situation under control before they can make any significant moves to improve the roster.

So we are just mailing this season in? Because as we stand there’s nobody in the standings in front of us going to suddenly start losing so we can make a play-in. You know the lakers will do something to get better. This sucks. Not sure how the off-season is going to make any difference. That way teams really see Klay and Wiggins suck some more. Damn.

If we are NOT going to try to move the needle for this season, I believe we should seriously consider moving CP3, Saric, and CoJo before the deadline for whatever future value we can get. To be clear, by “future” I mean value beyond this season, not necessarily young players or picks. We’re unlikely to have any of those guys next season anyway, and all could be of help to a Playoff team this season. CP3’s salary obviously makes him harder to move, but Saric & CoJo are easy. Compensation could be picks or players, either ones we would use ourselves or who could be part of trades in the off-season.

We do have some off-season options with CP3, but CoJo & Saric are UFAs the minute the season ends. So if they’re not going to help us win this season, we should get value for next season out of them if we can.

Well they are lacking size so they’re gonna run these guys dead. Draymond can only handle so much at the 5. Should really have gone after or signed a big it doesn’t matter if they fit the system. In today’s league you do need size for size to win.

I guess they are just content calling this season a bust and are already looking towards next season. That can’t be good

Lottery pick Mike Dunleavy ruined my childhood warriors team. Why would i expect him to do anything different now that he’s back

i’m so glad we have a son of Mike Dunleavy as our FO guy. Trading Klay just because you can’t win titles with him anymore is blasphemous
