Kind of depressing tbh, couldn’t even get one solid young player, if only Warriors were more open to the idea of getting Siakam, Kuminga with a pick and salary filler would have been dope ngl

I’m okay with it, as long as we do more moves with Bruce Brown.

Will is so far up his own ass he thinks he can do better than one of the best GM’s in the league. It’s hilarious. His Darko takes are fucking embarrassing too. Guy really thought Darko drew up a play for GTJ the other night in OT when Barnes just handed it off and gave him nothing.

Based on what was reported (ie. Huerter + Barnes + FRP) it’s kinda true. A flippable Bruce Brown, and 3 first rounders to get us young talent or package in further trades, in return for an expiring contract isn’t too bad.
Obviously if you look at it purely as “we gave up an all star, all nba level player” and disregard the contract situation and his refusal to commit to re-signing anywhere, it’s not good. But it wouldn’t surprise me if this was overall the best deal. We were never going to get a quality young prospect in this scenario.

Isn’t that his point? If we traded him earlier we could’ve gotten better? Or is stein saying across the past 2yrs this was the best

I think both Will and Blake wanted the team to tear down at the deadline last year and they thought that Pascal would have fetched more then. They take issue with Masai saying, “I owed that group a real center, I wanted to see what they would look like”, instead of just breaking it up.
FWIW, I understand Masai’s line of reasoning and I am at peace with it. If there was a Masai decision to be mad at, it’s likely not trading Kyle during the Tampa deadline — he would have fetched something sizeable. But I think Masai was still guilt-ridden about the whole DeMar situation

I have no doubt since he’s only half year left on his contract and has told many team he won’t commit to extension. Why would warriors, hawks, kings offer anything valuable when it’s half year rental?
The problem is he should be traded a year ago after his all nba season. Like Masai said, he should be more proactive. Way too passive and waited until he has to sell and the value tanked hard

I feel pretty alienated by Will’s emotional takes lately. Not sure it matters, he’s more popular than ever, but I can’t listen to it anymore.

From a 2K trade perspective, he should feel that way. Siakam is one of the best players in the league.
The reality is he wouldn’t even verbally commit to anyone (until he got traded of course). He was an expiring. Your only other option is a sign and trade with another team who can’t afford him. Which was extremely limited. They put themselves in a bad position and I still think the deal was better than signing him and being in cap hell for the next 5 years.
I have no issue with the FO betting on Nurse, Siakam, Fred, OG, and Barnes. I think they could have made noise if they came into the season with Poeltl or made that trade much earlier (to be honest – any centre plus a decent bench!). On paper that team should have been top 5. However, the reality is by the time the trade happened the team was falling apart culturally. Nobody gave a damn.
We have to move on from Siakam (and OG) and stop being a bitter ex. Appreciate their greatness. Let them get their deserved flowers.

Hoping Samson get his own raptors show, maybe tsn? Or not maybe going corporate ruins your stuff

If we flip Brown for more I’ll be happy with the return. Let’s chat after the deadline.

People still listen to Will Lou? Dudes an absolute tool with no business hosting a Sportsnet broadcasted show.

we know and because we took way too long and have no leverage. we should be a bit upset bout that

sometimes I read a thread like this and I feel like I’m listening to completely different show than ya’ll. I see so many opinions on will’s takes that he hasn’t said. I dont care enough to defend will lou, but sometimes it just feels like yall are taking the least charitable interpretations of what someone says because yall are looking to hate.
ilickedysharks
This is brutal because Samson confirmed on his pod that the offers for Pascal were better last year. Now this is common sense because Pascal was younger and on a longer contract last year so obviously teams would have to give up more, but some people will still try to argue it lol.

After hearing will lous live reaction to Scottie making the all star game don’t listening to the raptors show, he clearly does not like out franchise player

Will is the Steve Dangle of the raptors, and I’m okay with that

What sort of return could they have realistically got a year ago?
