The Problem the Cavaliers Have That Every NBA Team Wishes it Had – Sports4CLE, 2/6/24
JB bicker staff um has the problem that every NBA coach would love to have he’s got too many guys for his rotation here is bicker staff on the rotation the job is going to be how do we figure out you know the 10 guys basically uh which isn’t always easy especially when you
Have so many guys that are like SII so uh I mean we’ll work at it and we’ll figure it out um and it’s going to come sacrifice of everybody um you know to take a little bit of minutes down so that everybody can contribute in a role
I like 10 but they’ve earned it yeah nine is good yeah I like nine but we got 10 guys that have earned it and Sammy that’s the right mindset you know you earn minutes on good teams and um they’ll figure it out but it’s a whole lot better to have 10 guys that
Have earned minutes than five or six right yeah I mean some teams only have three or four you know they want to play uh and the good news is you know you’ve seen guys that have adjusted to their roles regardless of what their minutes have been we saw Dean Wade you know when
Evan Moy was hurt playing a lot of minutes and stepping in and doing the needed things defensively and rebounding wise well Moy comes back Dean Wade’s minutes are you know maybe cut in half just about but when he’s in there he’s doing the same things he was doing when
He started same thing with Sam Merill who obviously you know really gave them a lift in terms of perimeter shooting he was a whole new discovery a guy on the roster that they didn’t really know would be able to go in and and you know
Do what Sam Merill has done so now his minutes have decreased now that Darius Garland’s healthy but yet he’s coming in and doing the same thing so you know right there you talk about Carris Levert Isaac okoro uh there’s there’s nine guys right there if you include the starters
So they really do go deep Tristan Thompson when he gets back you know makes it 10 so it’s a lot of it for those last two or three bench guys it’s going to depend on matchups and uh you know whether the team is clicking but it’s always nice to know uh that you
Have those players available uh should should you need them whether it’s injury or whether it’s a matchup type of thing uh everybody has played extensively now and has a lot of experience which will only help you come playoff yeah and the the Lesser load minutes per game in
Theory should help you at that time as well

Try this out for a rotation. Keep the same starting lineup they had successfully used with mobley and garland out.
Mobley and garland Coming off the bench (they can still get starter minutes). Also coming off the bench Merrill, Niang and Levert with one of these three resting alternate nights.
When Thompson comes back, it will be 11 guys, and that means Porter just sits even though he's decent.
And Bates and Nance are playing well in G League. They could probably contribute as well but there's just not enough minutes.
When Dean and Okoro are out there togethert the D is NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You need D..stops!!!!! That's why Wade over Niang when it counts!
LET SOMEONE GO FOR A DRAFT PICK WE NEED TO COMPETE WITH THE NBA
LET WADE PLAY HE KNOW HOW TO SPACE THE FLOOR
