    >The league announced that, as well as being the “inaugural title partner” of the NBA Cup, Emirates is the first “referee jersey patch partner of the NBA” — its logo will appear on every NBA referee’s jersey from the NBA All-Star Game (on Feb. 18 in Indianapolis) onward. WNBA referees will have the same jersey patch starting in 2025, and G League referees will have it starting in 2024-25.

The NBA Cup is weird because it gives it more importance than it is. It’s not like the Stanley cup, it’s not an ultimate championship.

  3. Will the winner of the Emirates FA Cup and Emirates NBA Cup play each-other for the Emirates SuperCup at the start of the next season?

  4. As a European fan, I like it. Sure the Emirates thing is a bit meh, but oil-money goes where it wants to. NBA Cup is snappy and a hell of a lot more obvious than In Season Tournament.

refs should also have the patch logos for fanduel and draftkings just to make things spicy

  6. Qatar Airways NBA Championship and Etihad Airways MVP next.

Am I losing my mind or what? I thought it was literally already called the NBA Cup.

    >and Emirates airlines will be the named sponsor.

And thus, The Ka-Ching Cup was born

Phew…it’s still lame as fuck and means nothing

Missed opportunity to call it the Lebron Cup

Adam Silver is the biggest sell-out of all time.

They should redesign it to a North vs South format instead of the East vs West format that’s already used for the Larry O’Brien. Then it will be it’s own unique trophy

The amount of dumb comments in this thread lol.

  14. Might not be next year, but if Emirates stay on as the title sponsor they’re going to push for the final to be in Dubai for sure

  15. The UAE are buying up sports to rehab their reputation and to camouflage their practice of murder and slavery. I was already struggling with the NBA’s association with China. This might be where it ends for me.

This is just the start of UAE influence on the NBA. Just watch, they’ll own a team in no time.

It still won’t mean anything and people still won’t care. Just call it what it is – a way to get Lebum James a banner/trophy to appease his ego since he’ll never win another ring.
