The Orlando Magic “stand pat” at the trade deadline despite being linked to a few players. The front-office remains “not in a rush” to make a trade and open to letting their young core have the ability to see how far they can go before a pivotal/big offseason

Another words, a first round playoff exit.

  2. PaoloMeatRider

We have expiring contracts and a plethora of picks tho? Don’t have to land a star, but shooting or a competent PG would’ve been nice

  3. I expect nothing, and I’m still let down

But hey, at least we will get cash considerations for our second round picks. Hooray!

  4. BigSteeze7

Lol what a joke, I hope they are happy when we get bounced in the play-in. They are very clearly one of the dumber front offices in the league, I just hope they get fired before they make a move that hurts us in the long-run.

The Joe Harris to Orlando Woj Bomb is gonna hit this sub like Pearl Harbor

  6. zackarykapowski

Lol classic Magic incompetence. It’s blatantly obvious that fultz and Harris need to go, they’re expiring contracts and still the magic can’t even make a minor upgrade for the rest of this season.

  7. No_Swimming_9472

AB should be stoked! Gonna be stuck on the bench for the rest of the season while we play Fultz, Gary and Cole over him. That’s a great guard rotation 👍

    Weltman fucking sucks.

So tired of this dude. Our problem is easy to recognize and yet this guy continues to not fix it. How the fuck do we not walk away from the deadline with an upgrade at PG or a shooter?

8th seed confirmed. Swept in the playoffs confirmed. Pleb FO

    Flaccid front office strikes again.

At this point we should probably waive Gary and get Jett up here cuz we have no idea what we have with him, and if we’re not serious about competing like they proved today, then we need to look to the future.

“Not in a rush” = more job security

Weltman hasn’t taken a single risk in ~7 years. No need to when you work for an organisation that doesn’t have any expectations.

I didn’t expect our FO to do anything, but I’m still surprised that they’re rolling the dice on a broken, expiring point guard. The 6th seed is right there.

You people sound like such cry babies.

This FO has made a ton of great moves. Our quick rebuild took us from bottom feeder to at least a play-in team and have the 4th youngest team in the league. No one wants our shitty expiring contracts.

  12. Look at the bright side….. The spurs won’t have McDermott to play today?

  13. As expected. People here being pissed that we aren’t making moves to make a run this year.. I hope we don’t become even more insufferable when we have real expectations down the line. Trashing Fultz/Harris but also trashing the front office for not getting any value for them… almost as if no one else in the league valued them as well. It’s better to just keep them rather than make an unnecessary lateral move.

  14. We are not serious about winning. I don’t wanna hear it.

  15. Lets have a fun season then. Playoff basketball is always fucking awesome IMO.

  16. ItMightButitMightNot

I disagree with a lot of the comments. Realistically, we’re not competing for a championship this year. We are still the 4th youngest team in the league and our two stars are 21 & 22 y.o. Why make a win now move? I get the impatience but our window is coming in the next few years. Let the season ride out and see if something comes together in the offseason. Don’t force things. We’re building something great, let it continue to develop

Not sure what to expect… we have no clue what deals were on the table…

Look at the Pistons, they traded a 20 point scorer in Bogey and one of the top scoring reserves in Burks for basically nothing.

And released Killian Hayes, their no. 7 draft pick.
They couldn’t even find one trade for Killian.

Do you want the FO to make moves just to make moves? We saw what happened when Hennigan did it.

No move was going to move the needle significantly.

  18. NikThaGreat9

Don’t even care about making a major move. I agree it’s the wrong time for that tbh. And I actually like Fultz and Gary, but it was time for both of them to go. The #6 pick in the draft is currently not getting any playing time because of them (mostly Gary). And I agree with Mosely for playing both of them. They are both better than Black so I can’t really blame him. It’s just an annoying situation. And I don’t see Gary coming back next year and I’d be pretty surprised to see Fultz back too unless it’s a 1 year deal for much cheaper than his current contract.

  19. Effective_Owl_17

Well hoping it doesn’t happen but I’m fully expecting a play in exit

  20. mattj1621

I just don’t see how a pick 15-22 is gonna help this roster at all

  21. IrwinMFletcher

So either the FO is willing to let (Fultz, Harris, Chuma, and Goga) walk foe nothing, **OR** they think their trade values are at an all time low **AND/OR** will improve over the rest of the season **AND** that they can get each of them on a friendly contract that they can flip at a time of their choosing. I sure AF hope it is the latter!

  22. Star_Crunch69

i just don’t understand so many of last seasons moves if we’re just going to let expiring contracts turn into anything…

I mean we have a fucking lotto pick that’s already not getting minutes, wtf are we supposed to do with all of these upcoming draft picks

    *cash considerations enters the chat*

    GO AWAY!!!!

  23. Eventually I need to see this front office show a willingness to expand their ambitions. It’s okay for that moment to not be right now. But it needs to be soon.

  24. VodkaAndTacos

Obviously we can’t know what was on the table, so perhaps we avoided bad trades as much as we didn’t pull the trigger on good ones.

Nevertheless, I feel this organization avoid the heaviest of criticism by simply attempting to not make mistakes. It’s like playing ‘not to lose’ football. It just leads to prolonged periods of mediocrity, assets maturing out of valuation, fan frustration and a lack of adjustments to an ever dynamic NBA.

Look at the Knicks. They have effectively made 3 trades that have vaulted their status in the Eastern Conference. In my mind, the OG trade put them firmly as the 4th best team in the East. They have since added Alec Burks, Bogdanovic and House Jr. All these guys aren’t superstars by any measure, but they fit the mold of guys to fill out a playoff push by being measured and trustworthy.

There was so much movement including guys we had been linked to that it really seems we were just playing it safe yet again.

  25. Big_A_All_Day

We’re fucked without shooting. Die hard fans have been patient since 2009. 14 years later and we can’t put together a contender?

  26. WunWunFirstofHisName

So glad this is over. Some of you will have to adjust your screeching about trading Fultz and Chuma and Gary Gary Harris Harris to screeching about releasing them, but I’m sure you’ll figure it out.

  27. fredator23

Probably fixing to pick stuff up off waivers, sign some released dues

  28. Venice_The_Menace

at least scoop Dinwiddie, he’s up and down but when he’s motivated he’s a good facilitator and scorer
