I’m glad. Yeah he can be somewhat of a chucker, but you need a guy who’s always confident to shoot. One of my favorite jazz players ever tbh

I’m far from a JC hater, but I’m a little bummed about this. It just felt like it was time to move on (for both parties).

The bastard managed to tank his value enough

Wish the Grimes deal could have worked out, but Bojan is probably a better get for NY

Honestly I’m glad, with Olynyk gone I think having a vet around is important. Clarkson has his warts but I think he’s a really important culture piece. Plus his contract becomes very friendly after this season, which could make him enticing for future trades and would give us cap flexibility even if we don’t move him.

  6. JC sabotaged his own value the last 1.5 months. I will sing such high praise when he can stop his horrific dribbling turn overs.

I’m totally ok with this. Dude is solid (if a little inconsistent at times), loyal, and pretty much the last vet on a very young rebuilding team. Plus he’s just likable as fuck. Also his contract is short and pretty reasonable for what he offers.

Based on this being released so close to that statement about Murray staying put makes me think that they really tried to find an angle to make it work but Hawks just wanted more than Danny was willing to give.

I was for keeping him, especially on a down shooting year. There’s nothing I saw to my eye that he lost a step in getting to spots. He’s historically always gone on slumps, and to me it looked like he is just slumping longer than usual.

His lower than usual efficiency tanked his own value and he’s still on a high pay scale until next year. I love our longest tenured Jazz man, our bench still needs to manufacture points somehow so happy to see him for another year and maybe he rehabs value, when he’s only getting paid 12m a year next year and can get a better return then.

  10. Everyone laughed when I got a Clarkson jersey during the Mitchell-Gobert years. NOW WHO’S LAUGHING

I’m a little tired of JC’s overdribbling and chucking but I don’t hate this. No reason to trade him if they didn’t have any offer they liked. He’s got two more years on a cheap deal and can be moved in the future.
