Boston’s deals are official. Tillman/Springer are in. Stevens/Banton are out. C’s add depth for a playoff run, and have the opportunity to potentially keep these new guys around the core in the future. So upgraded from a win-now perspective, and added options for future.

Brad was cooking on this one. From having minimum players to players who we can have in the foreseeable future

Can someone explain WHY Philly gave us Springer. Other than $$ . ?? It makes no sense.

  3. Stevens and Banton for Tillman and Springer is a good way of looking at it. Obviously we gave up some second rounders to make it happen, but that’s a good end of the bench swap that has short term and long term potential with higher upside.

Banton and Lamar were extremely one dimensional, quite stiff and almost unplayable in our scheme. I had high hopes for both, but X and Jaden are huge upgrades in terms of skillset, fluidity, versatility and trust.

After our starting 5, we now have Horford/Tillman/Kornet, Hauser/O’Shae, PP/Jaden, Svi/Walsh. You can even start Horford in certain games (if necessary) and bring Jrue/White off the bench, now that we have Tillman, Luke (and possibly still Queta) up front, off the bench. We’re also *MUCH* better protected from injury and will have a higher floor when guys (Jrue, White, Jaylen, KP, Al) need rest during this final stretch of the regular season. We now have the best frontcourt (Tatum, KP, Horford, Tillman, Luke, Queta/Brissett) depth we’ve had since the big 3 era.

*That* is a bench worthy of a championship roster.

Al, Tillman and Hauser is an excellent trio to round out our 8 man playoff rotation. PP, Springer, Brissett, Kornet is now our “deep bench”. And that is what you need to compete in the Finals against a team like GSW that has CP3, Podziemski, Moody, TJD, Dario and Looney off the bench behind an insane starting 5 of Steph, Klay, Wiggins, Kuminga and Draymond. Steve Kerr has so many strategic options that can inject scoring, defense, energy, into a game at any time. It’s almost unfair for them to be this deep with those stars, knowing their *worst* starters are Wiggins or Dray. They ARE the Zombie Team of the West and we *will* see them again in the Finals.
