Jaylen Suggs who joins us right now you feel that energy Jaylen you first of all you have an ability I don’t know like anybody else to fire up this crowd so first of all but secondly did you feel the energy in the building tonight oh absolutely absolutely and I missed

Playing here so much uh that road trip was long uh it was Tyrant I missed home I missed SE in Orlando uh so to get back here get a good win you know and a win where everybody got to uh be involved everyone made plays and contributed uh

You know is great well dive dive into that a little deeper offensively just phenomenal I mean you you did enough defensively but 127 points 60% from the four and 60% from three what got into the offensive side of things tonight uh the ball has great energy you know we

Move it and pop it and and play together and play for each other uh great things happen you know and it really shows you know how good we can be on that end so contining to build on those things uh you know we talked about it you know

After the uh after the Miami game we talked about it today and shoot around um you know just moving the ball playing together continuing to get great looks and it led to good things so um you know great night offensively defensively and a collective win we love those tell me

Can you guys feel the the the impact and effect that you guys defense has on the game because it seemed like when you guys pick up defense you guys get the going up and down the court and you guys pick up the energy and that that kind of

Opened up the lead for you guys tonight do you guys feel that internally uh yeah definitely uh you know when we’re locked in defensively you know and getting stops and you know we’re starting to go on runs I think just everyone’s a bit more confident uh we’re shooting shots

More confidently um the ball pops a bit more we got a bit more juice a bit more energy uh cuz we taking care of business on and you know and it’s getting us some easy run outs some easy good looks we they mismatch and transition and now we’re playing against a nonset defense

You know we get to attack that so you know I thought I thought we did it all tonight you know the defense led the offense um you know we didn’t let our offense affect our defense you know in the in the flip-flop and uh you know it

Was a great win here how about yourself personally you always bring it on the defensive end but your team hits 16 threes you knocked down three of them you had a nice Baseline Drive dunk right take us through your night there you go we’ll start off with that jayen I knew

When I got a one foot dunk it was going to be a good night cuz I don’t do that very often young legs right there uh n it was great man uh just really was in the flow teammates gave me a lot of great great Energy Great support um you

Know and try to come out here and do my job you know and that’s it I want to win I want to play winning basketball and you know we did all of that tonight so you know those always equate to good wings uh great to be back in the city I

Love playing in front of it’s something about playing in the kid Center man I ain’t going to lie I get a bit extra juice hey man you you Swift on you already switch from man way to kid with no hiccup I see you I almost hesitated very well done you’re right

How about fron vogner when he has the sixth time this year he’s gone for 30 when he’s having a night like this finishing in the P even with the big fella in there what’ you see from France special special he’s so on control uh so

In control um you know and plays at his own pace he never gets sped up man and when he’s playing confidently uh it opens so much things up you know for our basketball team uh you know him and P playing off each other the rest of us

You know me Dell Kell just running finding our lanes cutting uh trying to make things as easy as possible and off that you know we just get to playing good basketball but Bo is a problem man I tell him that every day I say he’s an

Issue and you know he showed it again tonight man how cool is it to be on a team where like I’m a former player played in the league I I haven’t seen a lot of teams where it it’s as fun as you guys it doesn’t it’s no it’s not nuanced

Whoever’s turn it is and not you guys are giving the ball to him and playing through him it’s not like you know pao’s the allstar but it isn’t that that domination where I have to be the leading score every night or whatever it’s like if if if France is going he

Defers to him and how is it to play on a team and how fun is it to play on a team like that where everybody just whoever has it going it’s your turn tonight it’s not really a Nuance situation where this guy has to dominate and do this that and

The third and you all all get your fair shots at the game a it’s super fun I ain’t going to lie uh super fun I love being around this group and and it shows a lot about the character of people we have here and U you know it’s dope just

Coming out here and it don’t always got to be your night you know especially uh you know speaking for myself um you know it’s coming out here and when everybody else is cooking that them my favorite type of nights I get to play defense I get to watch them all cook have great

Games and uh and it usually leads to win so uh yeah I just think especially we got great people on this team we’re all super close all of us are brothers we love being around each other and uh you know we didn’t make no moves you know

This is still the same unit that we had to start the year so um I think you know that speaks a lot from our front office and uh what that means you know to us is a lot you know that they believe in US

Trust in us and uh you know we want to go give it all for them for the city and uh for everyone in the locker room that’s a great Point Jaylen last thing for you did did that you said that mental how did that kind of calm

Everybody down knowing this is what you got the rest of the way yeah trade trade deadline day is crazy I ain’t going to lie it’s crazy stressful be man it’s hard to take pregame naps with on trade deadline day but um yeah it means a lot

Honestly um you know and it shows the trust that they have in us you know we’ve said it from the beginning of the year this is us you know this is the unit you know we’re special we have the opportunity to do something uh you know

That can be talked about for a while uh so continue to attack that every day and it just shows you know they really believe in us you know they really giv us this opportunity and uh you know we want to take advantage of it that’s awesome well said wanyama every bit of

Um what what did you see over that stretch that that was able for your guys to to expend that lead well I like that first half and the way in which we played defense uh we we guarded the ball the right way FL flew around contested shots finished possessions with the

Rebound uh that first half was was a beauty thing the thing of beauty uh for us defensively and then the way we shared the basketball I think we had 16 assists at the half uh and then there’s also the discussion about the third quarter you know giving them 41 points

Um and then giving 50 points in the paint along with not with turning the basketball over so those are areas of improvement but that first half was something that you know we can build upon it seemed like when you guys fa them in San Antonio that it took a

Couple of minutes to adjust to wanyama on the floor tonight it didn’t seem that that was the case did did you feel like you guys were maybe more comfortable with him and attacking the paint early on often well just re reading the defense reading how he was coming across

The lane um I think our guys did a great job of keeping it off balance fron got downhill a couple times you know his hesitation then he passed it off on the late pass to Mo for a layup I think just recognizing and reading when he’s coming

Across the lane was our our guys did a great job of that and you know credit to the coaches for talking about that and going over film with these guys with that you mentioned this morning wanting to get off to to a better start obviously let you led wire to wire I

Think you guys were up nine nothing just to start the game how much of this and how much of the focus tonight was a response to to Tuesday night and and coming and coming home it was it was a challenge that these guys asked for um starting the games the right way and

That’s what we talked about the starters needing to do and set the tone early defensively uh and then being able to get out and run picking up on that point with w I mean you guys limited him him to just one rebound a night and talk about the job that just Mo did

Defensively on him really getting under his skin and just kind of being under him all night well we’ve always talked about being physical you know you every team comes in here and they want to out physical us and we got to make sure we set the tone right away early and that

Was a big portion of it um I think just being able to defend without fouling is one thing we’ll continue to work on but our guys did a great job of you know taking on that challenge and reading the way that he was playing uh and being disruptive you talked a lot pregame

About wanting to see this team take accountability not just for winning but for the way you win how are you sort of seeing them respond to that call maybe not just with in the way they start but the way they finish as well well I think

They took the the call for that first the first half and that’s what we talked about in that Locker my their first half they did a great job of sitting down guarding getting out to an early lead uh and then you know they ask for the accountability of that third quarter you

Know we got we got a little LAX with it and these guys you know they have 41 points in that third quarter and that’s not what our standard is it’s not our staple but our guys responded and came back uh to be able to put it away what

Is it that makes Johnson Isa such a good Defender can you speak about the energy he brings Off the Bench when he has performances like he did tonight I think just the versatility uh being able to guard one through five uh the timing that he has understanding and reading

The the offense when they’re attacking the basket being able to protect the rim but just his ability to guard guards guard bigs and he and he adjust uh depending on who he’s playing to you about fr’s performance tonight running point at times just it seemed like he had uh better control of

The ball tonight I guess Le less turnovers than the last game yeah I just think our guys did a great job of sharing it uh we kept the defense off balance and when the ball moves that way you know it makes it easy for the you

Know for the next man to make a quick decision uh our guys did a great job at shoo shoot around and this was part of following the game plan if you don’t have the shot or the drive you move it to the next man and he has he’s got to

Make the next decision and I think they did a great job of that
