The Boston Celtics improve to 40-12 as they defeat the Washington Wizards, 133-129. Jayson Tatum led Boston with 35 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists as Kristaps Porzingis (34 points, 11 rebounds) had his second straight game of 30+ points and Jrue Holiday added 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Deni Avdiji led six Wizards in double-figures with 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists as Corey Kispert (24 points) and Bilal Coulibaly (career-high 21 points, 8 rebounds) totaled 45 points. The Wizards move to 9-42.

The Celtics are first team in NBA to 40 overall wins and first to 25 wins at home (25-3 now).

Jayson Tatum tied Paul Pierce for second-most 35+ PTS, 10+ REB games in franchise history with his 20th such game tonight, only Larry Bird (59) has more.

    Celtics have to blow out teams like Washington. We have a great record but the quality of wins are concerning.

    If I'm jaylen brown request a trade after this season I don't know what is going on, jaylen brown doesnt shot the ball anymore he passes all the time and doesnt ever get the ball worked back to him like tatum, I used to be a celtics fan I can't stand this team anymore, derrick white needs to stop shoting like he's an all star thank you dumbass celtocs fan making another role player think he's a top player like Marcus smart, tatum that ball hog is suck bag and I hate that fuck more than any player in the league, porzingus has he ever passed the ball ever he gets and he shots it everytime can't stand him, jaylen brown please request a trade after this season you will average 30 on any other team you wpuld go to, I hope the celtics lose again in the playoffs fuck tatum, fuck tatum fanboys, and fuck celtics fans in general coming from someone who is a celtics fan or used to be can't stand this team and fuck mazulla tatum plays basically all quarters while jaylen brown sits for half the game, why did jaylen brown sit half way through the 3 quarter and benched the other game in 4 quarter, this team sucks, if jaylen brown ain't scoring I'm routing for the other team and again fuck tatum

    I could not stop laughing when they called timeout when Jordan Poole was about to do whatever random shit he was gonna do. You never know what he is gonna do at this point lmao.

    I just don’t get how our offense can get so one-dimensional at times. You got Kristaps Porzingis down low and a big threat the rim but we just continue spamming threes when we are behind. I don’t know what the coaches are thinking in games like this, but we gotta be taking it to the hole a lot more than we have. We got the W but we can be so much better right now

    I have always said that the wizards are truly the worst team in the league this year but they did fought hard against the Celtics this game. I’ll give them for that but they’re still terrible team don’t give me wrong They are starting to actually try to win games this time instead of what they were doing in beginning of the season.

    I think the Celtics underestimated the Washington Wizards and went into this game figuring they could play down to the level of their competition, but the Wizards clearly weren't having it. They gave them all they could handle.
