  1. Reminder to please not post the full text of the article, or even any significant chunks of it. Josh posts here occasionally and has repeatedly asked that it not be done. Thanks yall.

  2. Good reporting by Josh once again. I like the idea of flexibility, I guess. I feel pretty confident that they’ll be able to re-sign Tyus in the offseason. The hope is probably that Tyus will continue to prove himself as a starter and they can trade him later. I didn’t think about how a Delon trade might involve taking on more salary for next year, and we already have a million second round picks.

If the Mavs really had an offer on the table for Kuz then I imagine it was very similar to what they put forward for PJ Washington: 2027 first round protected pick, Grant Williams, and some combination of salary filler. Personally I feel like that’s a low return for Kuz, so I understand not doing that.

A bit of an underwhelming trade deadline. I will miss Gaff. None of this is theoretically un-sound as far as rebuilding goes. Current 2024 mock draft picks at the 20-30 range I like: Zach Edey, DJ Wagner, Yves Missi, Bobi Klintman, Tyler Kolek, Kel’el Ware. A lot of bigs in this group but I don’t really love the selection of guards in this class to be honest. For guards I’m thinking Nikola Topic or Rob Dillingham.

Why would taking on more salary for Delon prevent us from using our trade exceptions?

I do actually like the concept of starting Bagley. I feel like his production was good immediately after the trade when Gaff was out for a few games. He seems like a guy who deserves a decent role and minutes.
