[McMenamin] Spencer Dinwiddie explains why he picked the Lakers over the Mavs: “Let’s say you’re a kid and you get your ass whupped by the bully. Dallas would have been like your mama, like, ‘It’s OK, baby.’ … Lakers are like your dad: ‘Nah, you better go out there and fight ‘til you win.’”

It was reported that he was deciding between the Lakers and the Mavericks, and he ended up signing with the Lakers this past weekend.

More like “Nah, you better be good or you’re getting death threats”.

  2. So lakers are an abusive father who are teaching you to handle situations with violence first? I guess I’m good with the Mavs not being that

  3. What a weird quote, he alienated one of the very few fanbases that like him for no reason.

Lets see what he says once he gets scapegoated after losses…

  5. lol what hes implying is actually cool bc basically hes saying the mavs was the more comfortable choice but going with LA puts more pressure on himself, and that criticism will be more unforgiving. but saying it like this was a bad idea

Some people should probably speak less.

damn lmao, well now that he got his wish he now has to deal with darvin hamas losing them games with his 3 guard lineups

You know what, Kuzma is not a bad guy after all. Team Kuzma!

Lakers might end up being the dad that disowns him for making them look bad.

  10. He can’t explain for shit 🤣 this is all around terrible and makes 0 sense

  11. On the Lakers he has to perform. If he doesn’t, both fans and media will be critical, way more than in Dallas.
Huge gamble for someone looking for another contract.

  12. I was a fan of Dinwiddie when he first came up, but the dude’s ego has grown massively since his first Brooklyn stint, and he’s been saying stupid shit for quite some time. Was very weird to see an LA guy downplay Rick Fox of all people to shit on Kuzma. Then he plays like shit in BK this season and starts implying that his splits were horrible because he wasn’t allowed to play his game

That’s a weird analogy, some weird childhood parental stuff unconciously being let out? But I’m guessing Dallas would mean no expectations while Lakers they’d expect more from him and the Mavs would be whatever bruv just play. I would have just said it’s fucking LA and LeBron is there end of story.
