The Dallas Mavericks have now won five consecutive games as they defeat the Washington Wizards, 112-104. Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 26 points, 15 assists, and 11 rebounds as Kyrie Irving (26 points, rebounds, 4 assists) and Daniel Gafford (16 points, career-high tying 17 rebounds) totaled 42 points. Deni Avdiji led Washington with 25 points and 7 rebounds as Tyus Jones added 14 points and a career-high 16 assists. Dallas moves to 31-23 as Washington moves to 9-44.

This is exactly what they need to do. They're not going to play their best every game (especially against scrub teams) but they played hard and won by 8. They have a lot of games coming up against weaker opponents. This is when they can make up ground on the leaders.

Ugly game and poor shooting night for Dallas overall but having Kyrie late in close game has been huge for them this season. 17-6 in clutch games this season and new pieces will help them down the stretch. Lively coming off the bench is going to be insane when he gets back
