David welcome to Phoenix you are one of the newest members of the Phoenix Suns hearing that what does that mean to you uh it means a lot I’m very excited to be here uh I love the city city of Phoenix so I’m just super glad to be here and

And ready to take uh advantage of the opportunity what do you feel that you were meant to do here when them bringing you in and just making an impact I’d say just uh do anything that you know brings winning uh here you know whether that’s doing the dirty work uh defending the

Best players on the court rebounding uh sharing the ball um helping the other uh players on the court I think that’s you know something that is is really focused here and I’m really excited about the other day you spoke about just staying ready so you don’t have to get ready

What does that process look like for you personally uh it’s really just trusting the work uh your work habits uh your workout schedules um all those things stay the same no matter what team you’re on and as well as just learning to become even more of a professional and

Um always understanding each situation and always staying ready for that opportunity coming from Memphis and you said during that time you were kind of In the Heat of the battle really with all the injuries going on you were in those late game situations how can gaining that confidence help you here

And just bringing that over as you navigate that yeah it it helps me with a lot of experience um I go on to the court with more confidence as well as an understanding of what might happen during a game so uh for me to bring that

Here uh for me being a young guy and I can learn from those vets on the team is uh is very exciting and I’m ready for it who do you think you might be learning the most from all of them I would say um I’m very excited to learn from you know book

Kevin Durant and uh Bradley BU as well so uh all those guys and and nurkic as well and just all those vets and just ask them as many questions as possible about you know the defensive scheme and uh things of that nature as well as the offensive end what have your

Conversations been like with head coach Frank Fogle it’s been good it’s been good uh he’s a light-hearted guy he’s a fun guy to be around fun guy to you know hang out with so uh he’s he’s a great guy uh he’s super excited for me to be

Here as well so um you know again he’s going to coach me up as much as possible and uh again like I said we’re excited to get going I know some other people that are excited for you being here your family you just said and your mom Darcy

You’re very close with her you said your brothers are coming out to Arizona as well take us inside your relationship with your mom yeah uh I have a very close relationship with my mom it’s uh developed even more over the past few years um but yeah she’s kind of my ride

Or die uh homie so uh very excited for her to be here she loves the Phoenix area as well so um yeah she’s just been there you know my whole life and um you know I just try to make her proud and you said she’s high energy too right

Very high energy you will hear her from the stands I can’t hear her from the court anymore in college and high school I could but you know the Arenas are getting too big now so um you’ll hear her for sure okay
