That’s why so many people were griping and will gripe about the trade. Tre and Micic are good players. But with all the depth we had on our team, they just weren’t going to get many minutes over our other guards. They will fare better on a team like Charlotte that will allow them to play to their strengths and not be choosy about dealing with their weaknesses. The trade wasn’t about giving up on them. It was about setting us up REALLY well over the next year and with the upside of maybe even becoming a better rounded team this year. It’s a win-win trade regardless of whether Hayward contributes at all. No regrets even if we’re watching our guys instantly looking like steals for Charlotte.

I’ve watched every hornet game since the trade and he looks a lot more passive than I expected, in a good way. I thought he’d be jacking up shots but he’s keeping the ball moving and most of the time playing really good basketball! I’m super excited for him vasa!
