Asked Rudy Gobert about they ways in which he has been a defensive coach on the floor for Karl-Anthony Towns and how they hold each other accountable. Thought this was a cool answer.

“I think it’s just about being honest. I think throughout his career, I don’t think he maybe had somebody that really told him, like, ‘yo, what the fuck are you doing?’ Sorry for cursing. Just like I need him to tell me when I’m not doing what I’m supposed to do. And I think because he wants to win and I want to win we’re able to have that relationship together where we don’t take it personal and we’re just able to talk to one another and push one another and challenge one another. The day I got traded here, I knew that was one of the main goals of mine, to challenge KAT to be even more of a winning player. And he took that challenge. It’s fun, man. I’m really grateful for that. And once again, the goal is to win a championship. A lot of people doubt us, a lot of people don’t believe in us. And that’s the beauty of it too. We believe in ourselves, we believe in one another and we truly believe that we can write our own story.”

I so hope to see the day where KAT and Rudy help lead us to a championship… and I get to spend wayyyyy too much time looking through random redditors comments to find all the shit talking on KAT and the Rudy trade

I promise I’ll take that on

I need a Gobert jersey. Dudes straight fuckin class. MN v. Everybody.

  3. Rudy’s probably the most dedicated ‘winner’ we’ve had on this team since KG outside of maybe Butler.

Seems like a more adaptable leader than Jimmy too, who basically threw his toys out of the pram once he realised he had two unpolished guys with him that needed guidance.
