This is probably the most injury-prone season I could remember (I don’t even think we were hit this bad during COVID lol). Our record since Embiid’s been hobbled has not been good, but y’all gotta realize that this squad healthy was rolling.

Maxey / Melton / Batum / Tobias / Embiid had by far the highest net rating for any team (+34) with a reasonable sample size (>200 minutes together). Next highest was Cleveland during their red-hot stretch with DMitch, Allen, Okoro, Wade, Strus at +19.6, then Milwaukee’s healthy 5 at +15.3.

Wanted to wait till the All-Star break to do this because I was hoping it’d get better, but Roco, Melton and Batum have remained out for an extended stretch here which has really killed us too. Roco especially, could be out for the season with how Nurse talks about it.

At the end of the day, if we’re in a dogfight in the play-in when Joel’s back it’s gonna be tough to make a run. It’s just a shame because we had some great stretches of play and coaching before injuries just completely destroyed the team. We basically added Hield for Pat Bev in our top 8 in the deadline (pretty direct upgrade), and crazier things have happened so not gonna lose hope yet

this is why the doomer comments here or on Twitter don’t make sense, nor does the fans who expect wins down 3-5 starters each game.

If I’m seeing this right, there has not been ONE game with all five of our starters playing in this stretch. And over half these games we’ve had multiple starters out, with one being the MVP. There is zero teams that would succeed in these conditions.

I hate seeing Tyrese out there for 42-44 minutes per game too because the dude’s getting gassed, but with how depleted our team is it’s pretty much the only way to squeak out wins at this point. I just hope we can get all our guys back after the all-star break, outside of Joel whose on a longer timeline and Roco who might be dead

Paul Reed’s superpower is availability.

It’s crazy that one of our most consistently available players this season has been Kelly Oubre… who was hit by a car!

Oubre got hit by a fuckin car and is still our healthiest player

The lack of understanding I have on the RoCo/Melton injuries is concerning. Especially Melton. Does the guy need a new spine or something. I’m wondering if they guy is ever going to play again.
