From Woj: Washington Wizards guard Delon Wright has agreed on a contract buyout, clearing the way for him to sign with the Miami Heat upon clearing waivers, his agent Greg Lawrence tells ESPN. Another dependable veteran for the Heat’s rotation.

How do we feel about Delon taking his talents to South Beach?

  1. Happy that we are clearing time/roster space, don’t understand why we couldn’t trade him for even a second?

Also low key really like the dude. Too bad it didn’t work out, good luck to him on the heat. Probably a good fit with his defense. Hopefully he can get back to his old form.

Wonder if Shamet is next or if we will keep him and try to raise his value again since he has a club option.

Too bad we couldn’t get anything for him, appreciated him for being a good vet while here

  3. That’s a shame. Too bad we couldn’t get anything for him at the deadline. He’s had a underwhelming year up until this point

Good to see us do right by him. Nothing but a professional while he was here

  5. Winger and Dawkins probably did their due diligence in the market. Teams maybe were unwilling to give up draft capital given he’s an expiring contract, having a down year by his own metrics (he’s also playing almost ten minutes less than his average fwiw), and has missed his fair share of games these last couple of seasons (32 in 22/23 and 21 this year). Despite that, I enjoyed his Wizard days and wish him well.

This is frustrating considering we got nothing, but teams must’ve known. Glad to clear the space.

Right thing to do. For him and us. Best of luck Delon.

Great pick up for Miami, really liked him and what he did for us until this current season in which his level decreased. He’ll definitely benefit a team with winning aspirations

Man I’m sick of second round picks but even a second round pick beats zero return.

Well thanks hope u guys get out of the rebuild soon

    I love this guy.

Last season he was all hustle and effort, and I think Jordan Goodwin learned a lot from him as well.

He is quiet, with good defense, unselfish, and he is an excellent role player.

Does it mean we’ll see more Bilal or does Deni is going to play PG more?

Or JD is making a comeback?

Maybe JP will play more as a point guard?

    Who knows.

It’s just a shame we didn’t trade him for 2nd round picks.

Good news now we get to see Butler ball out.

  13. He was so fun to watch 2-3 years ago. Dude was a machine on defense. Good luck Delon!
