The Okc Thunder Have a PROBLEM
Yo what’s good y’all it’s j o back from Top ball Central and in today’s video we’re going to be going over the OKC Thunder and what they kind of did during the uh trade deadline and something that I thought they should have done and yeah
I’m just going to get right into it so the OKC Thunder had picked up uh Gordon Hayward they uh traded for him and they had to give up uh Trey man uh meic uh Davis bertin a 2024 second round pick 2025 second round pick as well and yeah
Honestly I do like this trade that they made because it adds a veteran to this very young style type of team and I just feel like it’s something that they really truly needed was a extra small forward to add I mean he’s 33 years of age and he’s already been through it but
He has been dealing with a bunch of injuries but whenever Gordon Hayward is fully healthy he is a really good piece to add to any team and these guys have just been so great for this OKC Thunder team they’re one of the best teams in the league right now I believe top three
I believe they’re are the third seed right now they was just the first they lost to the Jazz and that bring them down like a couple of spots and honestly just headed into the season I did not expect the Thunder to be nearly as really good as they are now is like on
Paper they are one of the youngest teams if not the youngest team in the league I believe and it’s just truly scary to see where they are now and where they can be and now I just want to kind of take a little bit of dive into some of the
Players that they have and I’m going to start out with like the first guy of the Season that they drafted in the uh last year’s draft which was Kayon Wallace Kason Wallace has been a pretty solid overall type of role player for this team he’s been a excellent perimeter
Defender he’s been getting the passing Lanes being able to poke the ball out Loose and just get overall just types of really good Steals and just play really good defense he’s also pretty good from the three ball and they also have another guy who is technically a rookie
Because he was injured all of last season which is Chad hram and he’s just been on an absolute tear as of late and just really this whole overall season and he’s been in a race with you know the top three rookies of the year uh candidates which is him wimy and Brandon
Miller and hram has just been an overall type of versatile really good lengthy big he’s able to shoot the three and just provide them some spacing on the floor he’s able to uh block and defend shots whenever a Defender tries to drive in on him he can catch lobs from SGA
Josh giddy whoever that is throwing up the lob to him uh he’s really good on the fast break off the pick and roll he’s just a really good solid overall type of big and he can do it all for you and just his favorite thing like for me
To watch from him is his overall defense and just ability to block shots because I’ve seen him block nine shots in a game versus the Denver Nuggets and he almost had a triple double off of blocks which is just crazy and he’s 7′ one and is
Able to to shoot the three with ease I mean he’s putting up uh 40% about on the three-point percentage uh during this season and his last 10 games he’s been almost shooting 43% but now moving on over to Josh giddy uh Josh giddy has been a pretty decent overall type of
Role player to have on this like starting rotation and he’s been putting up 11.6 per game while shooting 45.2% from the field he’s just a decent piece to have at that shooting guard spot right now to be able to mix and uh throw around in the rotation a bit and
Uh he’s a really solid overall type of rebounder he can playmake and he’s just a guy that can like feed the stat sheet because I mean some games he’ll have like nine rebounds eight assists and then like 15 points and he does show up in some games like versus the Raptors
Just the other day uh where he where they went to double overtime against them he shot N9 for 15 put up 24 points six assists and and six boards that game and he has had some inconsistencies this season but yeah he’s been a pretty good so solid overall type of rotational
Piece now moving on over to the next person who has been on fire this season and he’s really just been truly Unstoppable and that is Jaylen Williams and he’s just been one of my favorite players to watch in the League this year whether if that’s him just driving to the
Basket uh being able to catch lobs on The Fast Break he’s really just abl to dunk the ball really with a really aggressive type of power when he kind of dunks he looks like Westbrook in a way when he ever he played on OKC and one of
His best tactics to score the basketball is him driving in with like his elbow and then he’s able to create sort of like a fade away and one of his best uh other moves he does as well is driving to the basket just creating overall
Types of contact so he can get to the line if he doesn’t make it and he’s just a really good overall type of fast-paced scoring threat and I’m just truly loving his overall ability to score the basketball this season and one thing I’d definitely say he’s improved on is is
His three-point shooting because he went from just 35% in his rookie year all the way up to 45% this season but yeah he just provides that overall type of a really just good inside scoring aspect that the Thunder you know needed a guy to step up like this and they truly got
It from him and this is a guy that I think that should have honestly went to the dunk contest because he’s such an exciting dunker to me and I just think uh with how good JB’s been this season I think he has a really great future ahead
Of him now moving on over to SGA I mean this guy I mean it speaks for itself looking at his statistics he’s been an insane player this season he’s been a MVP top three you know candidate type of guy especially with him beat out now and
I’m really glad that he made the uh starting lineup for the allstar game because he’s just been such a great player whether that’s him this season putting up insane mid-range types of shots he’s able to create so much space off the dribble and he’s just so nasty
When it comes to being able to score the ball whether that’s him doing a spin move into the paint or that’s him doing an off balance uh mid-range Jay it really doesn’t truly matter for him he may not be the best three-point shooter but he don’t really need to shoot the
Three ball with how efficient he’s been in the mid-range game and just being able to create you know overall types of shots and if he’s not able to score the ball you best believe he’s going to find a way to make it to the free throw line
Because that’s one thing he’s really uh good at doing is drawing uh in free throws and now I want to dive into a serious topic that the Thunder have to deal with they have so many future draft picks it’s honestly insane I believe they have 18 first round picks in the
Next six years and personally I feel like they should have went after a center before the deadline ended because they have so many of them and I feel like if you just get rid of a few for a decent overall type of big man it would
Just be worth it and honestly I think Chad hungr he would just work better as a power forward anyways because he stretches the floor so well and I just feel like he would fit better at that spot and personally the best like player that I think they should have traded for
In my opinion is Nicholas Claxton and there was also some decent other overall types of guys that they could have traded for like Clint capella uh Kelly oen wendo Carter Jr and even Andre Drummet but I just feel like uh Claxton would have helped this team so much more
Because he does bring that overall youth to really what this team already is and he just brings this team a really good solid rebounder a good you know interior Defender and I just personally think he is a true overall type of Center but let me know Down Below in the comments uh do
You guys think they should have traded for you know a big before the deadline ended or do you guys think they should just keep the they should just keep the picks and just draft some people or you know just wait to trade someone in the future and I appreciate y’all watching
And as always make sure to like And subscribe and turn on post notifications and I’ll see y’all in the next one I’m out
in this video i go over the okc thunder #basketball #nba #okc

Go in more depth on free agency next
A true shooting guard next to shai
Caysawn
I think Okc needs to go after PJ Tucker for veteran experience and grittiness come playoff.
Umm the NBA has a Thunder problem… Wrong title…
Errrr sorry. Are you going to tell us about the problem? The problem is your title 😂
they grabbed Bismac off FA. he will be a great Vet back up 5 that can start when needed or play next to Chet in short stints. Great rebounder and blocker with ok inside Offence
Overall they're okay but they should get rid of Giddey. He disappoints every time I see him. He misses easy shots and fumbles the ball
Bismack Biyombo?
Wish okc would go after wembanyama
Such a great future …. I think they are smart to wait and see how this team works in the playoffs with the core & new added pieces of Hayward & Biyombo ?? They have so so many options moving forward with $ & picks …it’s truly staggering !! They look to be on a very very long winning road for years to come ….Presti is an absolute genius !!
Nah you’re right man. They need someone who can bang with the likes of the Joker and Anthony Davis. Until they do I don’t see them getting too far in the playoffs. And Chet would be way better at the 4 spot. Couldn’t agree more.
Overall
Boricua Hispanic indian n black IAM.. chet Shai n Jalen is the trio n back up is dort josh joe Jaylin Aaron is great n they are younger n learning n they going to be more stronger team. I hope they win the championship. Shai playing like Kobe Bryant n chet look like Kevin Durant n Jalen William playing like James harden they way he dress up he look like hem the only he don't have the beard . But the clippers they era similar because before James harden was with OKC n Kevin Durant n Russell Westbrook . That look crazy see the clippers n OKC . I say wow . But is going to be a great game this year Boston Denver. But I going to my favorite is the OKC young teens talented. I remember of the bulls Jordan n Pippen rodman n the back up tony kukoc Steve Kerr bill Cartwright bill n other players. I see a great potential to dort if he work hard he look like Karl Malone. Many good players of NBA pass like Tim Duncan n David Robinson Manu tony Parker Kobe Bryant Carmelo Anthony Dwayne of Miami heat n Chris bush, Kevin Garnett of Boston n ray Allen n Allen Iverson n many more .
I think the problem here is the future. When I say future, salary, chemistry, options, and versitality. If they get some big names on big men this early without testing the waters of the playoff contention, they might get stuck up if it doesn't work out and ruin the chemistry. Plus the salary option would be harder to manage and waste those picks in the process. Too risky and too early. Though I agree that Chet needs to move down to 4 and JDub to 3. I would prefer them to have a player at 5, like a Kelly Olynyk player type but bigger, younger and better defensively. That would be dang perfect for them and would really push for Finals contention.
Heywood is enough vet presence. More important to have young guys gaining playoff experience together. Personally, I know better than to second guess Presti and I am sure he has a plan with the million first round picks they got.
