We got a UCONN gangsta running the show now.
Just don’t give him a 5 year extension after half a season and I’m good with it.
Someone tell me what to feel
Hopefully Marks doesn’t rush into signing an HC because an internal hire was showing promise…
Unless we make the playoffs and win a series, move on from Ollie in the offseason. Then we can launch a thorough coaching search with proven candidates.
As long as we don’t lose by fitty it will be an improvement!
That said, I don’t expect much given the sorry state of the roster. Two non shooters at center. One big PG who can defend but can’t shoot. Two small PGs one of whom can’t shoot while the other is maybe at 35% on catch and shoot threes. Right out of the gate there’s absolutely no spacing.
Godspeed, Ollie
Not crazy about this. Why would he be any better than JV? He was in his staff this whole time.
don’t give him an extension let him coach the rest of the year and make plans based on the direction of the franchise.
Good temp hire
was randomly thinking about that wacky year when uconn won title led by shabazz napier as a 7 seed
He’ll be a fine interim he should in no way be the next permanent head coach of this team
If we’re praying for Trae or DMitch or whoever to join our team, we need a coach that players want to play for. Hopefully they find someone exciting and don’t choose a third dud in a row.
This makes sense to me: the Nets were already in a hunt for another star. This lets them ask Trae Young or Donovan Mitchell, “who do YOU want to be the next HC?” in the recruiting pitch.
Yay
