Kareem Rush. Been watching the Lakers since 2000 when I was 5. Anybody else remember him? Idk why, but as a kid I always thought he was going to be the left-handed Kobe. Wonder what happened to him and how his career went. Man, I was way off as a child talent scout.

  1. Man I remember him being an absolute sniper on nba live 05.

He gave me 20 bucks as a kid so he’s forever a Laker legend in my mind lol.

  3. What I remember about him was that he played ball in the NBA like he was still in college. He just didn’t play aggressive enough and wasn’t a reliable open shooter. Kareem was drafted along with another guard by the name of Jannero Pargo and he played just like Kareem. Both were done with the Lakers by their second year.

Game 6, 2004 WCF. Kareem Rush sent us to the finals with 6 threes.

Dude had a lonnie walkeresque game for us in the playoffs en route to a championship. People remember Samaki walkers shot in the “kobe.. to shaq!” Game but the Kareem rush contribution was larger

Apparently he wasn’t a champion but he did go 6 for 7 from 3 off the bench to eliminate the twolves in the wcf in a game we won by 6 points.

  6. Yeah I remember he dropped like 30 once and we thought he was going to be a hall of famer

Thought he had some good tools but never seemed aggressive enough. I remember he seemed to have good chemistry with Luke Walton and he even hit a game winner off of Walton’s pass one regular season game. Also random but I think he was actually a good singer or something? I can’t remember if I’m making this up but I thought there were rumors that he wanted to pursue singing more than continuing his NBA career

  8. You ain’t the only one. I thought he would be the next star that will help Kobe win but hey, I admit I’m a delusional Laker fan. I thought Ryan Kelly would become a great shooter.

  9. Kobe’s greatness and our good luck with our big men never required us to have a solid back up 2 guard. Rush would’ve been around longer with us if he wasn’t playing behind the GOAT.

Maurice Evans and Xavier Henry were also briefly productive playing behind KB.

When I think of left handers in the NBA from the past/present, while watching lakers/nba games, kareem rush is 1 of the names I think of quickly, along with michael redd, tyshaun prince, & mike conley Jr. & z-bo zach Randolph. (Most are right handed).

kareem rush had a big game 6 for the Lakers- 2004 WCF vs. MIN. Kareem did R&B music/ singing career. He has a brother that also played in the NBA, Brandon Rush- 2008 Univ. of kansas champion & 2015 GSW champion. Kareem is from Kansas City MO, went to univ. of Missouri, played for the Lakers, other teams in the NBA, the G-league, ABA, in Lithuania, and the BIG3 league. (Source: google & Wikipedia).

  12. He was great over here in Lithuania few years playing for Lietuvos Rytas
