The 30-year-old Porter, whom the Jazz acquired two weeks ago…His options include accepting a contract buyout from the Jazz, which would allow him to sign with another team. Porter would have to sign with another team by March 1 to be eligible to play in the postseason.

    1 OPJ pls Mike!

I’m hearing Otto and the Jazz are likely to agree to the buyout, and Otto’s preferred choice is to come back to Golden State. But the biggest hurdle is if Lacob wants to eat whatever the tax implications are of signing another player.

  3. Wait does that mean he’s been bought out already or that they are buying him out or that they *will* buy him out if he wants them to?? Such a confusingly worded tweet.

I’ll take 8 minutes pf small ball 5 OPJ over Loon and Dario late in games tbh. If he won’t play don’t do it. If he will play. Even a little. Bring him in.

When we had to make a defensive stand late vs the Grizz in the playoffs with 9 seconds to go.

    GP2. Klay. Wiggs. JTA. **OPJ.**

    For the win!

(remember Dray was ejected for one of the softest Flagrant 2 fouls you’ll ever see… not too many replays of that one. Not surprising you got a million versions of talking heads on his Nurcic foul but nowhere to be found critique of a playoff ejection of massive consequence. Smh.)

I like OPJ but we ain’t expecting him to play are we. We got enough log jam at the 3&4

Do we still have an open spot after converting Lester? If so, bring our boy home

OPJ was a key guy 2 years ago. Kerr was subbing Draymond in and out in a finals game for OPJ. We did nothing at the trade deadline except save money and cut a player who wasn’t working well. Sign OPJ.

  8. If he’s healthy, he’s actually our best option as a closer.

Our fans somehow will make Kerr look like an idiot for not playing invisible moody even we get Otto.

    Lol

    Bring him back.

His rebounding and timely 3s were awesome.

  11. Can we sign a buyout guy? Has the second apron kicked in this year? If so I believe it will limit our signing of buyout players who earned over min level money

I don’t have confidence in his body holding up

If he’s bought out and he’s healthy to play then we 100% better sign him. There’s no point in saving money in a season in which we essentially have no draft pick and have no reason not to compete for the playoffs with Curry playing at this level. Save all the tax dollars you can when Curry is long retired but why get stingy while you’ve still got a prime Steph.

  14. Makes perfect basketball sense to sign him but the warriors will not because of tax costs. Could’ve easily not signed lester and gone for Otto but even that’s a bit more expensive. Going by how they’ve been operating, they are going to leave the 15th spot open. Prove me wrong Joey.

He’s about as perfect a fit on both sides if the ball you can find for a role player on this team. He is the rare player with size that Kerr would feel comfortable playing next to other bigs. Allows us to play fast with spacing without playing tiny.
