If The 2024 NBA Draft Was Tonight..

For well over a year now the 2024 draft class has been deemed one of the weaker we’ve seen in recent history and while that still might be the case as the draft gets closer and closer it’s looking stronger and stronger but for some reason it still doesn’t seem to be

Receiving much attention whatsoever that is unless you’re a fan of a team like the Detroit Pistons Who currently sit with a staggering nine wins on the season a win total that puts them tied for the best odds at number one and guarantees them a top five selection for

Our simulation we’re just going to go ahead and give them the number one pick and here they’ve actually got a decision to make the class is getting stronger but there’s still no Zion Williamson Victor wanyama a consensus clear-cut first overall pick in fact who’s making this selection is likely going to play a

Massive role in who ends up being selected in this case with Detroit we see Fringe prospects go number one in back-to-back drafts as they select 6’9 Wing Zachary rizaj just like wimi a year ago rizaj is playing in the fr French League this season where he’s been exceeding nearly everyone’s expectations

In his 21 League games he’s averaged 10 points on 46 38 splits in his 17 Euro Cup games he’s been averaging 13 shooting 57% from the field and 56% from three now clearly the box score numbers don’t really jump out but the tape definitely does it’s surprising to see

That the hype hasn’t started to really roll in at 6’9 he’s got a really strong ability with the ball in his hands both as a scorer and as a Passer he’s far from the most explosive athlete in this draft but he sees the court really well knows how to take advantage of his Elite size even this early into his professional career he looks knocked down from outside both off the catch and off the dribble he’s got

This super smooth quick release which paired with a 6’9 frame is a scary combination especially with what he can do moving off the ball and attacking close out he’s the real deal and that’s going to become very clear very soon in this draft that Pistons need shooting they

Need upside and they get that here they go forward with this positionist Trio of him Kate Cunningham and assar Thompson it’s NBA Allstar Weekend and you guys already know I’m going to be cooking up some entries on today’s sponsor prize picks easily the the best sports pick

Them platform in the game right now it’s really simple more or less on different stats for up to 100 times or entry they’ve got pretty much every sport you can imagine and they always have new things coming out they recently added Goblin and Demon squares for different

Payouts they also now have the pick them Arena mode in a select few States priz piix just really makes the season a lot more fun for me especially with things like the All-Star game so here’s the entry I’m going with give me some of the young Allstars and hurn then with the

Expected lack of Defense give me some guys that are going to be jacking up jumpers Curry and Dame I’m going to go with a flex play so I only actually need three of the four to happen in order to get a winning entry let me know what you

Guys end up going with but if you haven’t checked out prize pigs if you go to the link in the description and use my code Jimmer when you sign up they’re actually going to match your first deposit all the way up to $100 thank you prize pigs for

Sponsoring then we see the Washington Wizards at 2 a team that really needs to hit on this selection or else things could get ugly quick now in this spot with who’s on the board there’s really not much of a decision to be made they

Go with a guy that in a lot of scenario is going to be the first overall selection some have him as the clear top prospect 7′ one French Center Alex SAR there’s clearly a draft Trend ramping up here last year we had two French players going inside the top seven potentially

This year the first two picks will be French now the NBA won’t be sar’s first professional St in the United States in 2021 he actually joined the newly established overtime Elite league in his final season there this past year he averaged 11 points and six rebounds then

Heading into this season he decided to join the Australian NBL and so far this year he hasn’t been doing anything too crazy averaging nine points four rebounds and just over a block but his potential that’s been on full display standing at 7′ one with a 7’5 wingspan

And Elite lateral speed for SAR the defense seems like a given he’s a ferocious shot blocker alland trying to break down his man and SAR SW that into the SE uncomfortable in so many spots on the court d block from where things really get interesting is the upside to his

Offensive game we’ve already seen in glimpses he’s made some really impressive moves off the dribble the 7 foot SAR bringing the ball up going against Ma and he gets the roll back to the basket he was younger s over the top like the match up for a moment look at

The length of s and while the efficiency has a ways to go he’s confident from outside s back to work s wants to te out the three ball the Wizards need defense more than anyone in the league right now which makes this selection pretty much a no-brainer but this selection also forms

A super exciting French Duo going forward with bosar and balal kabali then we’ve got the Spurs at three it’d be interesting to see what direction they would go if they had one of those higher spots but it’s unlikely they’re complaining too much here at three as they get the chance to select yet

Another forign Prospect 6 fo 6 Serbian point guard Nia topage topage has been playing professionally since he was 16 but for a while he really didn’t get much opportunity he appeared at only three games in 2022 in nine this past year now because of what he had shown on

The international stage over the last few years NBA Scouts were definitely aware of his presence but very few if any expected us to be talking about him as a top three selection at this point in the season but after being sent to Mega Basket in the Serbian League the

Same club that Nicole yic played for leading up to his arrival to the league topage started to dominate he was stuffing the Box SCP with 18 points four rebounds and seven assists at night while also shooting 52% from the field it’s really not hard to see why he’s had

Such a meteor rise to the top of the draft standing at 6’6 he’s a true point guard he’s incredibly tough attacking the rim which he pairs with his biggest strength his playmaking his ability to read the defense and seemingly know where everyone is at all times like

There’s eyes in the back of his head almost immediately causes you to see similarities to another gifted passer to come out of Serbia then in this scenario ending up on a pass a team like San Antonio seems like a match made in heaven the team desperately needs more

Playmaking and with a young Phenom like Wim inyama already just as fans of The game everyone should be hoping they somehow land topage then at four we’ve got the Charlotte Hornets who go with another massive Riser over the last few months Colorado freshman Cody Williams Williams came out of high school as a

Seventh ring Prospect in the country standing at 6’8 with a 7’2 wingspan before the season he was commonly being mocked towards the bottom of the lottery but that changed fairly quickly after taking the court through his first 15 games he’s averaged 14 points four rebounds and two assists on absurd

Efficiency 56% from the field and while only on around two attempts a game 47% from three this is on top of being one of the most versatile defenders in college basketball now while right now many still aren’t familiar with Williams even despite this massive climb up the

Draft board most of you are probably familiar with his older brother emerging second-year star OKC Jaylen Williams one of the most versatile and well-rounded players in the entire league on both ends it’s pretty safe to assume that his progression and his current production is going to make Scouts a lot more

Confident in taking Cody early in this draft also I can’t help but think of the scenario in which Cody teams up with Jaylen and OKC he’s got everything that Sam prey looks for in a prospect and the Thunder have more than enough Capital to move up in the draft on the clock at

Five is the Portland Trailblazers after loading up their back order over the last few drafts here they go with one of the preseason favorites to be the number one pick 6’8 forward Ron Holland Holland left High School a year ago as the number two Prospect in the country and

Decided to join the g- League ignite so far this season he’s definitely been putting up some serious box score numbers 21 points seven rebounds three assists over two steals a game but like we’ve seen with a lot of the top prospects that went to the g-league night the efficiency hasn’t been

Anything too notable 44% from the field and only 24% from three now his lack of elite efficiency is clearly not going to stop him from going very early in this draft but it definitely has widened the potential outcomes for him on draft night then we see the Grizzlies at six

Where they’ve got a few options but ultimately try and take advantage of their unexpected presence this high in the draft and go with someone who was heavily featured in those number one pick conversations before the season 6′ 10 small Ford Matas buellis it’s pretty obvious why there was so much interest

Surrounding him a year ago he’s a 6’1 pure Wing that doesn’t come around round too often but due to a pretty underwhelming beginning to extent with the g-league night we are starting to see him creep down the board a bit so far he’s averaging 13 points and seven

Rebounds while shooting 45% from the field and only 28% from three at seven the Spurs are back on the clock via the Toronto Raptors after addressing their biggest concern early here they go with Top’s potential future back cour partner 6’4 barer freshman jacobe Walter someone whose season has really been a tale of

Two halves he came in as the eighth ranked Prospect in the country and immediately looked apart in the very first game of his college career going up against Auburn and the Deep three rattles in he dropped 28 points he knocked down four of his seven three-point attempts and

Went a perfect 10 for 10 from the free throw line then after that while he didn’t quite manage to keep up that level of production he still put together a really impressive stretch to open the year through Baylor’s first 13 out- of conference games the Bears had

Gone 11 and two when Walter averaged 16 points while shooting 41% Beyond The Arc taking nearly six attempts a game as that was happening given his physical profile and ability on the other end that Scouts were already well aware of we started to see him Skyrocket up the

Draft board at one point most Outlets had him going inside the top three of the draft but then things really started to cool down and today you see him all over the place on different mocks so what happened well right after that incredible stretch to begin his collegiate career Baylor entered

Conference play and Walter really struggle to get things going over the last 11 games he’s averaged 12 points and five rebounds but is shooting less than 32% from the field and 24% from three now there’s still a lot of excitement surrounding his potential going forward but at some point

Production does actually matter he’s going to have to turn things around quickly in order to hold on to his place in the top half of the lottery now speaking of production the Houston Rockets are on the clock at 8 and they go with freshman Guard from Kentucky from Kentucky Reed Shepard

Someone who definitely doesn’t have the physical profile were used to seeing at the top of the draft he stands at just 6’3 with a wingspan not far from that he’s also nothing to write home about as an athlete but despite so many of these things hurting him as a prospect his

Production is just too much to ignore the foundation of his game currently is his ability to shoot the ball well really his historic ability to shoot the ball so far this year he’s averaging 12 points while shooting in this is absurd 50 3% from the field and 52% from three

There’s really not much time left in the college season he has a real chance to end the year with over 5050 splits ridiculous now while the shooting is the most eye-catching side of his game some of the other things he brings to the table have really started to give Scouts

Confidence that his frame won’t be nearly as big an issue as we usually make it out to be he’s been making a name for himself as a pickpocket bringing a ton of energy and effort on the defensive end which has resulted in well over two steals a game he’s also a

Really solid playmaker obviously the frame is going to make him a pretty risky selection in this draft but it also might be causing him to be the biggest value currently I’m really interested to see how this one plays out right after Houston is the Hawks at nine

Here they’re going to go with yet another Prospect coming out of France also another guy rising up the board as of late ton Salon Salon a 6’9 forward with a 7′ one wingspan who so far in his first professional season is averaging 9 points in four rebounds shooting just

39% from the field which is obviously not great but also 39% from three on solid volume that’s what’s really been catching the attention of Scouts in a lot of ways he’s a more raw version of the top piic Raj but just like Raj you just don’t see players with this kind of

Ceiling very often 6’9 players handling the ball like this especially while also proving to be this reliable of a shooter from distance when it’s all said and done it really wouldn’t be that surprising to see him going very close to re in this draft then we actually see the Oklahoma City

Thunder on the clock with back-to-back selections the 10th overall pick coming from Houston and the 11th overall pick coming from Utah it’s highly unlikely that one if not both of these selections is involved in some sort of move but in this situation where they’re making both

Pcks we see a pretty fun scenario they end up going with college teammates Yukon freshman Stefan castle and sophomore Donovan kingan both bring a level of upside s presty can easily get behind especially cast Oklahoma City’s front office ignores what position you played in college and for Castle that really plays into his

Favor He’s listed as a 6’6 point guard but he can really play all over the court and the anchor of that top ranked Connecticut team on the back of his 7’2 frame and solid Mobility he’s become one of the most feared run protectors in the country averaging over two blocks a game

He’s also managing 12 points and six rebounds a night but really these stats don’t tell the full story between some injuries throughout the year and extremely uncompetitive second halfes more often than not he’s only playing just over 20 minutes on average now clearly right now almost all of his

Stock centers around his ability defensively but there has been enough flashes offensively to allow Scouts to Envision a future where he isn’t limited to just the paint OKC once again walks away with a ton of upside from this draft then we see Chicago at 12 and they decid to grab Kentucky freshman point

Guard Rob Dillingham the Bulls have a really crowded back right now but it’s likely subject to some significant change in the near future so it’s pretty unlikely that fit weighs too heavily on their dra night decisionmaking dillingham’s another player who’s really helped his stock in a massive way this

Season he left high school as the 15th rank recruit in the country and then decided to go to the overtime Elite League where NBA interest for the 641 point guard really started to cool down he average 15 points but only shot 33% from the field and 32% from three but

Now this year with Kentucky he’s really starting to put things together despite coming off the bench for the wild cads Singham is second on the team in scoring averaging 15 points while shooting 49% from the field and 45% Beyond The Arc now similar to his teammate re Shepard

His size is going to be a major concern at the NBA level but right now it’s looking like his clear shot creation Talent is going to be enough for a team to take a chance on him pretty early in the upcoming draft then we see Portland back on the clock with their second

Lottery selection they went scoring early with Ron Holland and they actually targeted once again going with one of the top players in the country Duke 7-footer Kyle filipowski someone who a year ago many expected go one and done but he decided to return for a sophomore season and this year he’s upped his

Production to 17 points eight rebounds and nearly two blocks while also shooting 50% from the field and 35% Beyond The Arc there really isn’t much that isn’t exciting about his ability on the offensive end his size floor spacing and playmaking out of the front Court gives them a great chance to thrive at

The NBA level what’s tempering the expectations from scouts right now is the defensive end of the floor his Mobility actually puts a pretty intriguing ceiling on that side of his game but his over overall defense and athleticism profile have some justifiably concerned about how it’ll hold up against NBA offenses then with

The final selection at the draft was today we’ve got the Pelicans via the Lakers it’s pretty unlikely the Lakers are actually in the lottery but right now they are and are sending their pick to the Pelicans who go with the biggest follower of the Season USC point guard

Isaiah Kier man what a roller coaster it’s been for him so far he came out of high school as the top ring Prospect in the country he was widely expected to be one of the very selections of the draft most had him sitting Above the Rest at

The point guard position then to begin the year his stock was only going up this 6’5 point guard with an Elite Physical profile across the board through his first seven games was averaging 18 points and four assists shooting an obsurd 54% from the field 42% from three and 80% from the line he

Was starting to become one of the favorites to go number one but now only a couple months later we have him on the brink of falling out outside of the lottery what happened well since that start his numbers have taken a massive hit 14 points and four assist shooting a

Very concerning 27% from three and just 58% from the free throw line even during that great start there were some real concerns about his turnovers at one point he was on Pace for the highest turnover rate in college basketball history now added on to that were some very real concerns about his shooting

Then just a pile on he suffered a hand injury a month ago he’s only now returning from the concerns are apparent but the elite profile that is also still there the one that led him to being the top ranked Prospect in the country and the one that had him just a couple

Months ago was the most commonly mocked first overall pick in the draft as we get closer and closer to June it’s really starting to feel like he’s being looked at as a boomer bus Prospect in this class A rest of reward profile that makes a lot of sense for the Pelicans in

This range for his sake let’s just hope this isn’t a situation like saw with Trayvon Duval in 2018 unfortunately though it is a situation that’s looking concerningly similar

  1. I could see okc take jalen brother but who knows there always unpredictable but definitely need a 3D wing and atrur big possibly 6'10 or taller cuz okc needs size

  2. If Pistons draft Alex or Topic, it be really dumb as they the only star potential players in top 5. If they get Topic they will need trade either package Cade or trade Topic away, but Topic will likely be a stud in the NBA unlike Cade.

  3. I think the idea a draft class is considered “weak” because there isn’t a consensus #1 overall player or there isn’t a can’t miss “Zion/Wemby” prospect is lazy analysis.

The talent is there. Coaching and development need to pick up the slack.

  4. The Spurs might have 2 picks in the Top 10. Hopefully the get Topic to pair with Victor. They will be young but they will be at the same timeline and will develop together. Go Spurs!

  5. Lol 10ppg for a #1 overall pick is crazy how much french bust do you need to prove to you that you can't draft french guards that high Killian Hayes Theo Maledon Timothe Lowau cabarrot That guy on the wizards coulibaly 😂you are a poor scout bro

  6. Okc are not gonna draft Donovan clingan he doesn’t fit what okc goes for when drafting plus they avoids big like him due to their play style, it the same reason they pass on mark Williams, jalen duren and derick lively

They would draft Kyle flipowski over him as for Stephon I don’t anything about him so I can’t judge him but okc already have enough guards and one of the reasons why we traded tre Mann and micic because okc was too loaded at the guard position

  7. clueless draft "experts" deemed this a weak class over a year ago. Idiot casuals that parrot these talking heads took up this narrative and have been spreading it ever since. There's nothing weak about this draft class. It DOES require more evaluation skill for a variety of reasons and maybe since these people lack these skills that is why they insist it's a weak class even now. It lacks the consensus number 1 type as well but that doesn't mean it's weak. It's actually a good draft class.

    Reasons:

    1) they're international

since many of the top guys are international they're out of sight out of mind. Plus because they're playing against men and teams loyal to guys who will remain on their roster past this year they don't get the same amount of minutes and their talent would suggest. Any draft expert that brings up these player's stats is a fraud and should be ignored

    2) G-League Ignite

the Ignite program is a disaster. The team is poorly constructed with terrible guards and worse coaching and structure. You can't trust these stats. Just pay attention to physical profiles and look for flashes and base level skills

    3) on loaded college rosters (Kentucky and Duke) getting inconsistent minutes/touches and thus inconsistent production

Wagner, McCain, Foster, Sheppard, Dillingham, Ivisic, Edwards, Mitchell, etc all chose the same two teams and their minutes/touches are sporadic and inconsistent

    4) play on teams with national championship aspirations so lose touches to upper class-men

Castle and Furphy are two prime examples of this. They take backseats to their teammates despite being the best NBA talent on them

    5) play for small programs out of the lime-lite

People aren't seeing them play so miss the flashes that show their NBA talent. Guys like Mgbako, Ware, Ighodaro, Stojakovic
    6) combo of 3 thru 6

to sift through the noise and evaluate this class it requires you to trust your eyes and not judge these guys on production or box scores but to place these kids in the roles they'll be playing in the NBA. Pay attention to size/length/athleticism and flashes. If you do this you'll see that this class has:

    1) arguably the best international class in NBA history

    Sarr
    Yang
    Risacher
    Salaun
    Topic
    Furphy
    George
    Ajinca
    Perrin
    Ivisic
    Klintman
    Nunez

    2) very strong point guard/forward class

    Castle
    Topic
    Carrington
    Collier
    George
    Nunez
    Mitchell
    Wagner
    Proctor

    3) very strong off-ball shooter/secondary playmaker

    McCain
    Sheppard
    Dillingham
    Knecht
    Karaban
    Walter
    Watkins
    Kolek
    McCullar
    Stojakovic
    Shannon Jr.
    Johnson
    Dunn
    Edwards
    Mintz
    Sallis
    Scheireman

    4) very strong center/bigs class

    Sarr
    Yang
    Ivisic
    Bradshaw
    Bona
    Ware
    Clingan
    Missi
    Filipowski
    Edey
    Almansa
    Ighodaro
    Hall

    5) very solid wings

    Holland
    Williams
    Buzelis
    Smith
    Klintman
    Ajinca
    Mgbako
    Flowers
    Tyson

It's also very early. There will be more hype once we hit March Madness and many of these kids that the "experts" haven't even watched get more exposure. Also fans of NBA teams will start to pay more attention since their teams will likely be picking high and they'll drive the conversations surrounding this draft. Unfortunately, they'll just regurgitate all the "weak class" drivel but it'll still get more attention which is a good thing. Then we'll get full measurements and games at the NBA combine, team workouts and player interviews. With all the scouts coalescing in one place the content they produce will skyrocket and perhaps then the narrative will change

    First round Big Board

    1. Sarr
    2. Risacher
    3. Holland
    4. Yang
    5. Castle
    6. Williams
    7. Salaun
    8. George
    9. Collier
    10. Missi
    11. Furphy
    12. Topic
    13. Walter
    14. Knecht
    15. McCain
    16. Buzelis
    17. Ivisic
    18. Carrington
    19. Mgbako
    20. Filipowski
    21. Sheppard
    22. Smith
    23. Stojakovic
    24. Ighodaro
    25. Perrin
    26. Karaban
    27. Dillingham
    28. Ajinca
    29. Flowers
    30. Dunn

  8. With Wemby, Coulabali, Sarr and Risachier looks like France gonna dominate the Fiba scene in a couple years.

  9. Risacher doesn't look to have any dribbling and the playmaking is questionable. Topic is way too small, who the hell compares him to Luka? Sarr as a center can be decent defensevelly. I really like Matas Buzellis, I would select him way higher. The other players don't look promising.

  10. I understand the first pick for the San Antonio Spurs, but why would they draft this other kid if his production is so streaky? They desperately need a true 3&D shooting guard. Wemby has shown he can find his guys all around the court. He would be averaging a triple double if anyone could hit their shots.

  11. NEVER believe in the so-called 'projected best/worst draft class' BS from the experts. Also never give into MixTape performance hype (aka Zion) đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™‚ïžđŸ’€
