The analytics revolution was inevitable but a sad outcome is that most offenses now look relatively similar (and this wasn’t always the case). The simple fact is that putting your best playmaker in P&R situations as often as possible and spacing the floor with shooters results in more points per position than anything else. There are still exciting *players* but it’s tough for any one *system* to stand out because the nerds have cracked the code.

I dunno man, I’ve watched 90% of games this season, and there have been some crazy defensive plays. Of course, nothing like this, but this was amazing defense in a time when shooting 3s was less common. Also, it should be considered that it this were 1994 both Payton and McMillan were on all NBA defensive teams.
Not taking away from it, I just feel like today’s NBA regulated this kind of play out of the game.That being said, Kevin is the man and the best in the biz, and hopefully our team takes off sooner than later.
