  1. Shout out to the Express News hope y’all’s guys’ effort to unionize is successful

  2. Great timing to do it even for those who don’t think it’s important to do, the city will have eyes of the world on it and making it a better touristic destination with amenities close is essential to benefit from the economic boom the city will experience through the Wemby era

Let’s fucking go, perfect spot I’m so fucking excited

  4. Imagine having dinner up at the Tower of Americas then coming downstairs to watch another Tower in Wemby

  5. I’m glad the Spurs have committed to paying for the new arena themselves like any normal business would do.

Lord have mercy, Henry B, Tower, Alamodome, and the Spurs in that one spot? It’s gonna be a parking/traffic nightmare on certain days. Hopefully they have accounted for how congested all that gets. Imagine a Con, a UTSA game, and a Spurs game happening all at once.

  7. For someone who isn’t in SA, just confused on why the arena would be sold to the city if the Spurs would want to play there?

Edit: with that said, I’ve travelled to SA to watch the Spurs before and I loved the city but man the AT&T centre (at the time) was quite the bus ride out of downtown.

  8. Drinks and dinner is Southtown, scooter ride to the game. Sweet.

Aww.. I have very fond memories of the institute of Texan Cultures..

I know they are just looking at moving it, but it’s never the same. Like when they moved the Buckhorn Hall of Horns downtiwn instead of at the Lone star brewery.

They will need to determine what to do with the dome. Turn it into a parking lot? It’s literally across the highway from where this will be. City barely made a profit on Dome after 20 years

2 major barriers: Funding and the Bexar County Frost lease that doesn’t expire until 2032.

Man I hope it happens though.
