News for the Bulls so it just seems one thing after the other we made no moves at the trade deadline and now things have just been spiraling ever since Patrick Williams being out for the rest of the season is going to be a huge blow for the Bulls but even worse is his

Contracts up after this year this could be beneficial IAL to the bulls not having to pay him as much money in the future but it could also be bad cuz we don’t know what he’s going to be like when he comes back hopefully he’s where

He was if not better where he is a young player and still progressing but there is the the chance that he might not get back to where he is could have complications with the surgery I hope that everything goes well for Patrick but realistically we have to think of

Those things with his contract being up and he could walk in free agency for nothing we are able to offer him the restrictive free agency with his bird rights but we’ll break down everything you need to know on that later on this video the first thing that I saw there

The Season obviously not exactly what the bull gos need to hear they don’t have anybody really able to play the power for a position seems like we’re going to have dear playing out of position as Tory Craig is also been up and down with injuries for quite some

Time now almost the entire season and that’s not exactly what you want to hear if you’re a team trying to make a playoff push next thing we saw in this was we could see that Patrick Williams when we try to break him down this season I just want to go over a little

Bit of that but obviously he’s a small forward plays a lot of power forward cuz we don’t really have one it’s 6’7 with a 611 wingspan a solid size there only 22 years old of Charlotte North Carolina and then when we look more into we could see that this season he’s

Putting up about the same points as last year playing one minute less the exact same field goals attempted and 2% worse the exact same threes and 2% worse well 1 and a half 1.6% actually points uh and then free throw percentage we’re looking at there yeah I mean it’s also gone down

A little bit about the same amount of attempts it doesn’t look like he’s getting any better it looks like he’s the exact same player if you ask me so the progression wasn’t really there but he also didn’t really get much of anything worse so I guess that’s okay

For the consistency but a player that’s 22 years old you’d expect him to get better year by year not stay exactly the same after his year of being 21 years old season next thing that we’re going to break down here is we can see the advanced metrics really bad on offense

This year compared to what he was shooting was uh the shot quality is still very solid 6 on percent off and three-point attemped rate and offensive rebounding are also around League average everything else much below League average which is not what you’d like to see we can then see that the

Deflections are above League average pretty solid but he’s not causing many defensive turnover at the ninth percentile a very solid defensive rebounder which is why they’ve allowed him to play a little bit more power forward I would assume uh but and his block percentage is also very very good

For the small forward position however his versatile versatility s is a bit lower his Rim defense and frequency are also quite low but he doesn’t foul too too often and is about a League average Defender this season as we know he does have the tools to be a much better

Defender and uh just hasn’t shown that so far but I’m hopefully he comes into his own after the surgery next season hopefully the Bulls can come to an agreement on a contract with him and if they have to let him go maybe it can be a sign and trade something along the

Lines of that I don’t want to see any guy on this team walk for absolutely nothing especially a guy coming off of his rookie contract we can see here that this season he made basically $10 million and that is on the drafted rookie scale contract this was the last

Year of that deal and uh then we can also see the breakdown the contract he initially signed was four years 32 million about 8 million a uh year and guaranteed at sign was 142 that was an entry level rookie contract and he is a restricted free agent this season they

Took up the club option in uh 2022 23 and 23 24 on him which we expected them to do because you don’t want to give up on a guy when he’s 20 years old or even 21 but now the qualifying offer will be about $13 million for Patrick Williams

And is he worth that money maybe uh still very young player still lots to come out of him still able to develop but you have to think about what what are the Bulls looking like going into next season we could see here these are the players that they have signed LaVine

Is going to be making $43 million Lonzo ball probably going to pick up that uh Team option or player option sorry at $21 million as he hasn’t played in two years so I don’t think another team’s going to give him much of a contract so 21 million for the one

Year he’ll probably take uh Vu is making 20 mil next year Kobe white only 12 uh Caruso is making 9.9 and then we go down to sumu at seven Javon Carter 6 and a half Dal Terry three and a half Tory Craig on a player option unsure if he’ll

Take that or not uh I could see him leaving I could also see him staying where he struggled with so many injuries at 2.8 million Terry Taylor at 2.2 and then Julian Phillips at 1.9 next year so we only have 11 players signed hopefully Lonzo will be back uh if not that would

Only be 10 players signed on the books and then we can see the salary cap totals for this season uh is $25.9 million and right there above the salary cap Max the Bulls are about $75 million in the whole of the season and don’t necessarily have the team to show

That uh the second apron space is $57 million however which is fine absolutely but the uh salary cap flooor they are3 $ million in the hold there as well not exactly what you’d like to see out of a team for the way they’ve performed just about below the 500 Mark uh ever since

Lavine’s been out just before that they were even worse and that’s not exactly what you want to see out of a team like this uh going into next season and the playoffs just around the corner as they’re trying to make a very big push for that and they basically have to at

This point but do they have the pieces to do that I think they’re going to have to go get some players out the buyout Market or call players up for more playing time they just converted uh unal uh bitum sorry to a uh I’m sorry if I pronounced his name wrong there out

Turkey and the windy city Bulls g- League team uh to a standard NBA contract I’m not sure how many minutes he’ll get there uh he is more of insurance but I think he could get some playing time down the stretch now as they’ve almost run out of ideas if they

Don’t make a buyout Market buy I could definitely see some guys like him and soogo getting some more playing time and maybe that will be the best for them but we can see here the Practical cap space for next season projected is $16 million in this offseason so a bit of money to

Play around with there and the maximum capital is actually $38 million so the Bulls still do have a lot of money to play around with there there is potential that they could sign somebody and uh yeah I mean there’s still cap holds like deardo Rosen at about $42

Million for next year uh I could definitely see some things happening there that the Bulls uh do get a player in the off season who are they going to sign we talked about Kelly UB Jr and mo vogner maybe they’ll get a guy like that maybe they’ll get another guy to go

Alongside LaVine seeing how they want to keep him even though he’s undergoing another surgery and maybe that will be for the best come this off season I don’t like seeing D Ro and walk for absolutely nothing hopefully they can work something out there but if not

Hopefully we can get a player in return and hopefully it can be really good for the team going in next season they have to be realistic this is not not the team to get it done in the playoffs I I hope that I’m wrong on that front but I

Really do believe that it isn’t but hopefully next season we get the team to do that or at least go in the right direction by rebuilding and retooling this team to be competitive and young at the very least if you’re not going to make a push this has been your host Joy
