Luka is one of my favorite stars in the league ,and this isn’t hate but people often times don’t consider defense when talking about who’s MVP. Shai is the leader in blocks, t5 in stocks, and is a great overall defender. Even Jokic, who’s a decent defender, he’s not a cone like Luka isn’t as good as Shai defensively.

Luka is obviously a generational talent, he’s also whines and complains non stop, which yes, definitely effects his defense
He might not be the best defender but from what i’ve seen this season he’s not been a negative
No need to put down other players to lift up our guy. Lukas defense hasn’t been horrible this year, shai is just on another level.

i wouldn’t call luka a cone at all, he’s improved as a defender but he is inconsistent on that end and it’s hard to blame him when jason kidd been asking that man to do everything under the sun on offense for years
he displayed some pretty damn good defense the last time our teams played so we should know
SGA has a great case for MVP, and if defense is the difference to you then fair enough, but calling him a cone and showing defensive lowlights is in poor faith

I watched the 2nd half of their game vs the Pacers.
No joke I saw Luka take a jump shot and miss. Took him 10 seconds to get past half court. Packers played 4 on 5 and made 3 passes before Luka arrived to stand around on defense.
There’s a reason why Shai is 1st in +/- at 8.5 and Luka is 91st at 2.6.

I’m a wolves fan who was recently down voted into oblivion for suggesting the same thing in r/NBA. Luka is probably a little better on the offensive side but I think Shai is number 1 due to his ability to play both sides of the ball. I believe that someday Ant will be right there with Shai but its probably a couple years down the line
Luka is kinda like Harden was on the defensive end. Known for not giving effort but when he does it’s solid. It’s not that he’s bad on defense, he just doesn’t give consistent effort, or at least has enough lowlights to give that perception.

Some Mavs fans online (Twitter specifically) have become miserable fucks trying to tear down SGA bc they want Luka to get more respect. Don’t be like them. Both are incredible players. Both have arguments for MVP. Just state SGA’s case. Don’t tear anyone else down. It’s a shitty look.
