Podz is a hustle guy. Coaches love hustle guys. Moody may be a better scorer, slightly, but everywhere else he’s way behind Podz.

  2. sneakyrumble

With CP3 injury, you need a ball handler for the second unit. Moody isn’t competing for those minutes, GP2 takes his, basically because he’s a better defender.

Unfortunately Moody doesn’t excel on anything, yeah he hustles a lot and we all appreciate that, that’s why fans like him. He’s not a great shooter, not a great POA defender, so he’s trapped in the rotation backlog.

If Moody could play-make or rebound or even just draw chargers like Podz, he’d be playing.

  4. Podz is a better shooter, rebounder, ball handler and passer than Moody. That’s really all it is. They both have similar weaknesses on man and team defense so that’s a wash.

  5. RimRunningRagged

Guys with a more dynamic, versatile skillset are given more leash, shocker

  6. Consistent rebound numbers get minutes. All coaches find minutes for good rebounders.

  7. heliocentrist510

This sub talks about Moody like we’ve got the next Kawhi chained to the bench. A little perspective, people.

  8. cosmicvitae

You would think Moody is a potential all star from how some parts of the fanbase talk about him

  9. I think that Podz earned his minutes and this a stupid comparison

  10. gethereddout

Proves that Kerr isn’t against playing young guys- he just values IQ over ability. Unfortunate for JK the most, because we really needed him logging heavy minutes last season.

  11. STA_Alexfree

Podz came in on day 1 basically ready to play-make and get consistent mins at an NBA level

  12. FullAutoLuxPosadism

Again not a warriors fan. Podziemski gets minutes because he is good at just about everything and willing to do just about everything. Moody does not do that.

  13. One thing to keep in mind, even if Podz isn’t a lockdown defender, he leads the league in taking charges. Every one of those is an extra possession.

  14. Stupid nonsense by someone not qualified to speak on the subject.

  15. HanzoShimada96

    Podz, TJD > Moody, Kuminga

as far as rookie season goes

  16. LawfulAssole

These aren’t the same player and the comparison is lazy.

  17. Nalicar52

They play different positions and we are weaker at PG. that’s really all there is to it.

  18. nba2k11er

I think they’re just trying out Quiñones for a bit just to see what he can do.

GPII is better at basketball than Moody.

Podz is mainly getting this many minutes because CP3 is hurt.

  19. beezybreezy

Podz is way better than Moody even with his rookie mistakes.

  20. AndOnTheDrums

They dont play the same position or style.

  21. burnersburna

The thing is Podz doesn’t really make mistakes
that’s why Steve keeps playing him

  22. i really don’t get all the m00dy obsession here

  23. Bruh___789

Chris Paul and GPII both missed extended time which helped clear out a spot for Podz to play

If Wiggins and JK both missed time then Moody would have gotten enough run to make a solid case for himself

Positional depth matters and Moody didn’t benefit as much from injuries

You guys aren’t listening to Kerr lol. He spells it out when reporters ask about Podz

Look at his DRIVES – he is putting the ball on the floor off closeouts and getting paint touches consistently, possession after possession, without turning it over, for a team where most players love to just chuck it around the perimeter or make poor decisions and take it into traffic. He gets the ball moving side to side on the court, and these are things nobody but Steph does. He is a high level game processor and makes very quick decisions. A .5 basketball player.

Moody, I love, but he is not good at any of those things. He’s better at other stuff, especially defensively, but Kerr is looking for specific qualities both when Steph is off the floor and to amplify the Steph minutes

Moody should still play imo for his size, team defense, and hustle, but it’s harder to put him in lineup combos when our offense is so 1 dimensional and needs some dynamic guard play

  25. Can we just stop with this moody agenda? Podziemski has stolen 1st squad from Klay who still can have 25pts on 60% night. Moody is your typical 9th man but warriors have too much guards anyway so he didn’t play because he’s the weakest. That’s really it. He would play minutes at Lakers just as TJD wouldn’t play there

  26. FungChoyChicken

There was a podcast from The Athletic’s beat writers, that write for Nuggs and Dubs, and they talked for a little bit about why he isn’t even looked at. Worth listening to, but it seems Lester has taken his spot.

  27. Moody doesn’t add things over Klay, Wiggins, or JK to take their minutes. Those guys also need minutes to get their games going.

Podz and Quinones add skills that GP2 and CP3 don’t do.

  28. Thisteamisajoke

Moody is a worse shooter than Klay, a worse ball handler than Podz, a worse defender than GP2, a worse everything than CP3. He’s perpetually the 2nd best option. So when Kerr needs something, there is always a better option than Moody. He needs to get really good at 1 thing to get a clear role carved out for himself.

  29. paranoidmoonduck

People losing their minds for 3 seasons, saying Kerr doesn’t play rookies enough, then he plays a rookie, the team consistently wins the minutes he plays by a huge margin, and people are still unhappy.

Moody is *fine*. He’s not a good enough ball-handler to be part of the core guard rotation and he’s not big enough to get a lot of minutes in the wing rotation. He’ll get a good shot next year and might turn into something real. He’s still young.

    Chill.
