Man I watched a lot of Victor last season and I thought his passing was interesting but nothing special. Now it feels like every game he’s racking up 5+ assists and throwing passes I’ve never seen before.
I feel like he’s leveling up like every 10 games this year. It’s insane.
Unpopular opinion but I’m really enjoying him being on my favorite team

Absolute statement game by the kid against they guy they’ll be pitting him against for his entire career. The improvement he’s shown since the start of the season is frightening. I think Wemby is the clear ROTY now and the only argument against would be numbers and perceived impact not translating to winning. OTOH, would the Spurs have 5 wins this season with an average player in Wemby’s spot?

In 1 or 2 years, Wemby is going to make 5×5 a trivial stat. Nobody’s going to care for it anymore because he’s going to record one every other game. That’s how crazy this is gonna get where we’re going to go from 20ish 5×5 recorded in NBA history to 10/12 a season for just this one guy.
Its kinda of insane to look back at like 2015-2017 when you had people legitimately saying the center postion was a dead relic of the past.
Fast forward to now with Joker, Embiid, AD, Bam, Sabonis and Wemby all dominating as Centers in the modern NBA. Big men where never dead they just needed a bit to adjust.
Toward the end of the game their was a sequence where Victor
1. Made a pinpoint swing pass to Tre with 2 seconds on the shot clock. 3
2. Scared SGA enough that he either missed the layup or Sochan blocked it. Victor got the rebound.
3. Passed it to Tre…who passed it to back to Victor…who shot a 3 from fucking Mars and drilled it.
4. A possession or two of the Thunder being scared to death to shoot the ball with him anywhere near them
5. Chet trying to go one on one against him and just straight up getting his jumpshot palmed.
Number 5 doesn’t even make logical sense. It don’t seem possible for a person 7 foot tall to get blocked so bad on a JUMPSHOT that the ball barely comes out of their hand…but that’s exactly what Wemby did to Chet.
Watching this dude play basketball is surreal sometimes. He legit does stuff on the court that I can’t even imagine. When he blocked Chet jump shot like that it took me awhile to really believe it happened and I wasn’t just imagining it.
If somehow Trae Young really ends up on this team I can’t even imagine how you begin to defend a dribble handoff between him and Victor that starts with both of them at the 3 point line. Yuck.
