Postgame Interview: Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler, Terry Rozier III, Erik Spoelstra

They fall behind by a lot come back they get back up and all of a sudden you’re within two at the end what’s the overall thought man I mean we always give oursel a chance uh just being resilient still fighting back not giving up even though you know

Some people would have cracked but you know having that type of adversity is good for especially in you know these type of environments where you know we faced a good team A lot has obviously gone right winning n 12 you have your defense back on track if there’s any

Area where you think you need to polish your game collectively as a group it would be what uh I just think we missed a lot of shots we we usually make um you know I feel like uh a lot of shots usually go in they didn’t tonight um you

Know we’re all human uh some days we going to all shoot 16 higher some days we not what most concerned you about being able to take the success you guys have developed veloped on the road and having that same consistency at home with the dwindling calendar in front of you uh I

Mean just see what we can do you know we we’ve obviously we know our identity it’s just taking that home and uh and running with that momentum without crap thank you is it the inability to get over the hump sort of how do you assess the overall performance uh I take

That um there where you know we want to be in the sense of of finding a way to win um one of their really good players went down and they kept at it kept playing basketball the way they know how to play basketball so that’s what I take

We’re not quite there just yet but um we had a little bit more time to get there you still feel good overall about where the team is at winning 9 to 12 oh yeah yeah yeah we straight we always been straight though so we were never um weary we’re never

Worried we we know um who we are we know this is the it’s almost close to the most important time of the year so we’ll be okay what’s it like just the way this East is right now I know there’s plenty of games left you started the night in

What was it Fifth now you’re in eighth I mean it’s just that back and forth how do you do you look at that what do you take out of that we okay eighth seventh sixth fifth 5 4 3 two 1 I don’t care we don’t care and

Just to see the spark that Terry provided that what it was going down you know you guys talk about ignitable a bunch of players and what he gave you at the end to position you to be within two at the end how nice is to have that sort

Of jolt you know he’s still getting into a rhythm which is great we want him to stay aggressive one through four quarters even in overtime um he was a big part of us being in this game tonight so I mean as I’ve been saying he

Going to be a big part of us winning games anyways alongside everybody else that we got uh we lost got to go get these ones at home thank you that as down as you were the whole game right right there at the end you still were there with a shot

Just the way the team found a way to fight its way back uh I mean it’s just part of our DNA never giving up always you know fighting to the end so you know that’s why people respect us and that’s just the way we play and the credit goes

To the coaches because they never let us get down so that closing run that you had I mean the plays that you made I mean is that sort of make you feel that hey this is what I can do you know I can energize at the end I can provide that

That burst you have at the end that kept it there no I don’t care we lost overall in the trip I mean can you assess over just one game no overall good but where do you see this team trending oh in the right direction for sure in the right direction for sure so

You know just got to take it game by game and you know continue to to to keep trending in the right direction what are your takeaways from night that was sort of up and down and then at the end very competitive yeah you know they’re they’re a good team um you know

And those swing moments they’re very good in those moments and the quarters and halves uh um just to keep the momentum going but you know our guys have that that fortitude and grit to to keep on fighting back uh it was a little bit of a struggle offensively and that’s

Credit to their defense um you know defensively um I thought it was uh you know pretty good um just in terms of uh the physicality the discipline uh they’re a challenging team to guard with jokic’s uh passing and all their cutting and all that stuff um you know but we’re

Able to manage a lot of that you know um reasonably well I mean uh that that’s more than you can expect you know defensively and um offensively you know we have um you know we have to convert on a lot of those uh opportunities to beat a team like this

On the road we had some opportunities uh they were not wide open but um at The Rim um you’re not going to get just wide open layups uh against this team but you know there was probably some that were makeable uh that didn’t go down uh some

Turnovers in the first half that led to you know momentum shifting plays to you know to threes um and some his free throws but uh you know we’ll uh we’ll learn from this overall it was a good road trip even though you know I’m I’m not feeling that right now but I’m I’m

Objective enough to to um see that we’ve made some progress uh in the last eight days for sure was uh playing from behind from the start the toughest part of the game toughest part of the game is at the end when we lose no I mean games are

Long you know they got up to a great start they uh knocked down some shots we um missed some shots uh but U you know there was more than enough opportunities and times during the course of the game we got it even and or at least within Striking

Distance uh but then you have to make some plays and you do have to credit their defense you know I think they’re one of the more underrated defenses in the league I don’t understand why people don’t give them more credit you know for that they’re well drilled very well

Coached uh and they know what they’re trying to do defensively um and we never really got you know to um a a a rhythm and flow you know consistently um and part was on us and and part was for sure on their defense Terry’s ignitability we saw that at the

At the end I mean is that sort of who he is that may where times get tough he can create there was that one play he had to steal went to the went to the corner made the three end of the game when it was sort of however you needed it he

Came through your thoughts on sort of how he can be that guy in first yeah there’s no uh question about it that that’s who he’s been over the course of his career if he’s ignitable uh he can kind of create things out of nothing um and when you play good defenses like

This you you need guys that can uh can make plays you know like that obviously Jimmy can bam uh can do that Tyler for sure can do that uh so having Terry you know get in more Rhythm and get getting more comfortable with us um I think is a

Big plus all right thank you

  1. good game, good fight but objectively denver exploits the height advantage. jokic is still the tipping point. spo has to develop orlando robinson or Thomas Bryant to be a big body to block out jokic from the paint – if ever the 2 meet again in the next match up.

  2. We had this game won even without Tyler Hero. We just missed to many shots that we normally make. Bam said it best. Even in a lose we put the league on notice.

  3. It’s going to take the off-season to make the necessary changes that needs to be made to win a Championship. Starting with Size!💯

  4. Their size bothers both Jimmy and Bam. This is a recurring theme when we play them. Also Tyler not being there hurts us a little.

Jovic had a solid 25 minutes. Looking forward to his continued growth.

  5. Good fight from the Heat. Denver is just better across the board. Heat will lose to them 9 times out of 10. Hope Spo keeps Nico at the 4.

  6. Put Niko in PICK and roll, Cleveland do that to nuggets, Niko is to slow in that play. That's why they win. Target Niko 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

  7. I’ve never believed what a player says more than jimmy if he says we’re going to be good then we are definitely good

  8. Rozier is not we need.. he looks flat out there.. and when the heck are we gonna get a legit big who can actually guard Jokic

  9. It looks like an nba finals again when i watch that game today
I dont think if they (MiAMi HeaT) were the team that everybody said A tough hot team in the league
Jokic & the nuggets beat the miami heat team again even in this regular game. If they are both of them meet again in NbA finals ..
AGAIN im not expecting miami heat could revenge on Denver nuggets … Not good for emo jimmy . It's gonna be a failed repeat match up. in Finals
I dont know if butler try their free agency,,

  10. Bam should be attacking Jokic a lot more than I saw. We all know Jokic is not a well known shot blocker like many other big men.

  11. NBA should've scheduled this game – a finals rematch – earlier in the season when the wound of losing the finals was still fresh in their minds and both teams were healthy. Never get a great measure of what can be done when again we're missing people to injury. I don't understand why a finals rematch comes at the back end of a season. Makes no sense.

  12. Terry wants to win. You can see it on his face. He's disappointed. He's definitely a competitor. Once the game in Miami's system starts to feel more comfortable, we're going to be a problem.

  13. We Aight!!!! On to the next. Terry / Tyler and Bam puttin' 20 a game. NBA Teams don't want this smoke.

  14. Despite his woes from 3 point land, Terry is making tremendous strides w/ his new squad. We have a great coaching staff tha will help him fix that by next game. We were missing Tyler and they lost their star guard, but w/ a few shots dropping we had this game. We lost to the right team. The defending champs.

  15. We have to GUARD THE 3!! MPJ should not be open when he’s the only one killing us. KCP should not have his yearly avg in the first half
