Kyrie Irving on being booed at TD Garden:

“They have a right to boo. From my career record against them in the last few games, I haven’t won so until I beat them, they have all the right to continue to boo. I think that’s what makes the theatrics of sports and competitive sports fun. Just gotta embrace it. It’s part of it.”

Being 2nd row in the section Kyrie flipped off in 2022, his interaction with the fans is probably my #1 sports memory (because of the game winner)

Kyrie was going nuts in the 2nd half and a Celtic fan during a quiet FT shooting time yelled to the section “Stop talking shit to him, it makes him better!”

KD heard and said “aye yall on the same side man, but he right. it aint working”

The back and forth between KD/Kyrie and the section I was in was so amazing … They were so locked in … And the game winner just deflated the whole team after that I feel like

JB said he wants us to boo every star coming into the garden

If Kyrie came out tomorrow and acknowledged he acted immaturely in his time in Boston, and he regrets some of the stuff he did in Boston while he was with the nets…I’d be inclined to let it go, but he refuses to even acknowledge why we boo him. In his mind he thinks we boo him cuz he jilted us. I don’t remember us booing Al Horford when he left us for a rival. It was never about that dude.

  4. Nice try Kyrie.

This was a good message but I guarantee he’ll switch up his take and have a completely different response next time. Never know with Kyrie and his words. It’s all over the place.

At the same time. I don’t really care for the guy anymore, he’s old news, he doesn’t concern us cause he nor his team is a threat to the Celtics. He’s just there. It’s not like he’s Lebron where we had a lot of battles against and plays for a hated rival while still playing well. Kyrie is just whatever, him being booed at this point is just a reminder for me how trash he was for the Celtics in 2019 and just gravy

Love how boos are the main focus before any other aspect of the game.
They sound like overpaid middle school mean girls.

Does he think that if he wins the fans won’t have the right to boo him anymore?

    Flat earth logic everyone…

  7. Maybe this guy finally matured? He’s been pretty quiet since going to Dallas.

This is the first time he has said anything logical in response to the booing. He’s getting closer. “They’re a passionate fan base, and I understand why they were disappointed with how my time here ended. I’m sorry it ended badly, and I guess they have a right to be upset.” That would literally end it.

Kyrie says things like this and then the next day say he’s spiritually ascended and our hatred is a reflection of our corrupted souls.

He’s always peppered in his lunacy with things like this. Stay focused, brothers. Fuck Kyrie.

I don’t think Kyrie understands why he gets booed in Boston.

This is the most sane thing he’s ever said

  12. And after beating the C’s he’ll get booed even worse

Well that’s a completely different tune from before. He took it so personal all the other times. I have no idea if he’s being sincere. But to be honest the booing is getting old and over done. We just come across as bitter ex’s that can’t move on. It’s not like we are the Pistons right now. I’d rather just not even give him the time of day when he touches the ball. Complete silence would be more fitting.
