[Tynan] Sochan when asked what was the biggest defencive improvement since November: “Just understanding who we have, different personnel, on the court. Communication—that’s #1 for me and for everyone else. When Vic’s in, we want him to help. And everyone kinda stays back, because it’s fuckin’ Vic.”

Has anyone asked him why he quit dying his hair random colors? I’ve been wondering since the HEB commercial when he would hit us with another one.

I remembered one of the guards (maybe Tre) said awhile ago that the main defensive scheme is funneling the opposing ball handler to Vic and that has been working wonderfully. When Victor is on the floor, it isn’t the breakdown if our guys can’t stay in front of their man when there is a 7’4″ guardian right behind them. The problem right now is that our perimeter guys must crank up their defensive intensity whenever Victor sits because Zach is a far worse rim-deterrent or they have to change the defensive scheme completely. Maybe that’s what Jeremy means they change their style depending on who’s on the floor.

I love the fact that saying “it’s fucking Vic” is self-explanatory nowadays. No need to elaborate, it’s fucking Vic.

One of the biggest parts of team defense is communication and reacting to your team’s call outs. This is developed through time and reps.

Glad to see we have been making progress throughout the season.
